I’m going to highlight a few big names from the area that have recently made their college decision, and break it down in terms of what they bring to their respective college.
Mouhamed Dioubate Mouhamed Dioubate 6'7" | PF Putnam Science Academy | 2023 State #103 Nation NLG heading to Alabama
The Putnam Science Academy wing Dioubate is heading to Alabama after recently announcing his commitment to the program.
Let’s rewind a bit, first. Dioubate started his high school career with John Bowne High School. There, he was an integral part of their success and he put up solid numbers on both ends of the floor.
Dioubate chose to reclassify to 2023 after the COVID-19 pandemic as well as transfer to Putnam Science Academy. He played an important role on a team that was highly competitive on the highest prep school basketball platform. In fact, the team went undefeated and won the 2022 National Prep Showcase.
This past summer, Dioubate played exceedingly well on the Nike EYBL circuit, leading the PSA Cardinals in scoring and rebounding.
Marvin Musiime-Kamali Marvin Musiime-Kamali 6'6" | SF Cushing Academy | 2023 State NLG on his way to Akron
Musiime-Kamali, a Cushing Academy player, recently committed to Akron. Starting out at Thayer Academy, Musiime-Kamali played an important role for the team. However, as many others had done the same, Musiime-Kamali reclassified to 2023 after the pandemic. With the reclassification, Musiime-Kamali also decided to transfer to Cushing Academy.
He played well at Cushing, and even earned All-NEPSAC AA honors. For AAU, Musiime-Kamali played for the Middlesex Magic and impressed on that stage as well.
Elmarko Jackson Elmarko Jackson 6'3" | PG South Kent | 2023 State #21 Nation NLG commits to Kansas
Jackson, who plays for South Kent School, committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks recently.
Jackson has had amazing, memorable high school seasons, playing for St. Augustine Prep and Academy of the New Church. But, it’s Jackson’s performance during the summer that’s really incredible. Playing with We R1 on the UA Next circuit, Jackson was one of the standouts.
Miles Rose Miles Rose 6'3" | PG Putnam Science Academy (CT) | 2023 State NLG selects St. Bonaventure
Rose, another Putnam Science Academy product, committed to St. Bonaventure. Rose transferred to Putnam Science Academy early on. With that, he also decided to reclassify to 2023. Same with Dioubate, Rose was part of the team that won the National Prep Showcase.
Playing on the Adidas 3SSB circuit with the NY Jayhawks, Rose showcased his scoring and passing ability which was a huge indicator for his potential future success.
