FIRST TEAM
Preseason Player of the Year –
Amani Hansberry
Amani
Hansberry

Mount St. Joseph | 2023
State
#52
Nation
MD
| forward | Mount Saint Joseph (MD)
Hansberry returns as the reigning Baltimore Sun Player of the Year after a dominant junior season that resulted in the Gaels sweeping the MIAA and BCL. The summer consisted of more winning and further development for the Illinois commit, which should translate to an even more productive senior season.
Mike Williams

Bishop Walsh | 2023

#141
Nation
MD
| guard | Bishop Walsh (MD)
Williams used the summer as a springboard to emerge as a legitimate high-major prospect. With that being the case, expectations rise for his senior campaign as he steps in and becomes the primary scorer and playmaker for a Bishop Walsh group that plays in the loaded NIBC. While they may take their hits, Williams is certain to post respectable stat lines along the way.
Carlton Carrington

| guard | St. Frances (MD)
If Carrington showed anything over the course of the summer it was his ability to put up big scoring numbers on a consistent basis. He’ll have plenty of looks come his way this season as the Panthers will lean heavily on the trio of Carrington,

. Carrington, who will head to Pittsburgh next fall, has a chance to record multiple 30-point outings this season with the number of looks he’ll receive.
Cam Gillus

State

| guard | Sidwell Friends (DC)
Finding multiple ways to win games is key to being a great point guard. Gillus has a solid resume which he should build on as a senior. We expect many more wins with some productive games along the way.
Malik Mack

If Mack can stay true to form and pick up where he left off at the end of last season, get your popcorn ready. We’re planning to see big things from the Cadets in 2022-23, with the Harvard commit leading the way.
SECOND TEAM
Thomas Batties | forward | Gonzaga (DC)
We’ve mentioned before how Batties looks like he will take on a leadership role for the Purple Eagles as a senior. We expect Gonzaga to be a competitive bunch this year, with the Harvard commit playing an integral role on both ends of the floor.
Jahnathan Lamothe

St. Frances | 2023

| guard | St. Frances (MD)
For St. Frances to maintain national relevance this season they’ll need Lamothe and Carrington to be spectacular. Either are capable of going for 20 points whenever they step on the floor, but the difference with Lamothe is he’s going to do his damage from deep range. When his shot is dropping it makes this team extremely dangerous. The future Maryland Terp will also have to provide production on the defensive end while being a presence on the glass as well.
Tyler Perkins

Perkins checks pretty much every box that a coach looks for. All signs are pointing to a fruitful senior year for the future Penn Quaker.
Jeremiah Quigley

Quigley

Bishop McNamara | 2023
State

| guard | Bishop McNamara (MD)
Quigley has thrived since his arrival at McNamara. The assertive lead guard has shown that he is not afraid of big moments. Quigley is an X-Factor for what we believe will be a competitive Mustangs squad.
Ace Valentine
Ace
Valentine
6'2" | PG
Mount St. Joseph | 2023
State
MD
| guard | Mount Saint Joseph (MD)
With the departure of Bryson Tucker, Valentine steps in and becomes the primary ball handler and orchestrator of the offense. Make no mistake, he’s up for the task as he displayed last season during the Gaels’ postseason dominance. The UMBC commit has steadily improved as a three-level scorer and will look to prove himself as a distributor this season with more attention being paid to limiting his looks from a defensive standpoint.
THIRD TEAM
Jeannot Basima
Jeannot
Basima

John Carroll | 2023
State
#200
Nation
MD
| guard | John Carroll (MD)
Basima didn’t take long to establish himself as one of the area’s top defenders and he still very much fits that bill. The Yale commit has also become a relentless slasher on the offensive end who is known for his aggressive mindset whenever he sees a slight driving lane. Basima is a guy who can impact a handful of categories and will be a reason why the Patriots sneak out wins against marquee teams throughout the year.
Malcolm Day
Malcolm
Day
6'6" | SF
Takoma Academy | 2023
State
MD
| wing | Takoma Academy (MD)
Day was one of the biggest stock risers regardless of class this summer. The 6-foot-6 wing has proven himself time and time again as one of the most explosive athletes in the local class and is a fun watch in transition. He can also tee off from beyond the arc off the catch and continues to get better at creating space for himself off the bounce. Takoma Academy is one of the more intriguing programs that people aren’t talking about heading into this season and Day has the ability to demand that attention by stacking wins and providing excitement.
Aidan Harris
Aidan
Harris
6'6" | SF
St. Mary's | 2023
State
#293
Nation
MD
| wing | St. Mary’s Annapolis (MD)
Harris returns a year after helping lead St. Mary’s to the MIAA B Conference title and despite losing some production from seniors to graduation, puts the Saints in an even better position to capture the championship once again. Coming into this season, Harris will be fully healthy and likely a walking double-double thanks to his ability to score in a variety of ways while using his strong 6-foot-7 frame to be a bully on the glass.
Jaden Johnson
Jaden
Johnson
6'0" | PG
Bishop McNamara | 2023
State
MD
| guard | Bishop McNamara (MD)
Johnson has been rock-solid for Coach Keithline. He looks to be in good form this preseason and in store for a big year. Johnson’s versatility will be a key asset, especially on defense where can guard multiple positions.
Jaden Winston
Jaden
Winston
5'9" | PG
DeMatha | 2023
State
MD
| guard | DeMatha (MD)
Winston’s stock is steadily on the rise heading into the season. It remains to be seen what the rotation will be like, but don’t be surprised to see him playing an important role for Coach Jones and the Stags.
