One of the top returning scorers in the state, regardless of class, Taylor is an explosive athlete who gets to the rim and scores at will. The Knights figure to be the team to beat in the division again this season, and Taylor’s ability to fill it up in a hurry is a major reason why.
First Team
2023 Douglas Taylor Douglas Taylor 6'5" | SF Newman Catholic | 2023 State IA (Newman Catholic): 22.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 steals, 60.0 FG%
Taylor has been committed to play baseball at Iowa since his freshman year, but he has been a dominant scorer on the hardwood for the last three years as well. A long, athletic wing who scores in bunches, he’s a terror to opposing teams in this league with his blend of length, athleticism, and talent.
2023 Max Burt Max Burt 6'0" | PG Newman Catholic | 2023 State IA (Newman Catholic): 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 2.5 steals, 57.0 FG%, 49.1 3P%
Like Taylor, Burt has also been committed to play baseball at Iowa since his freshman year. He’s a true lead guard who looks to get others involved first, second, and third, then will take his shot. He’s an elite shooter and a fantastic ball-handler and decision-maker.
2023 Bo Harrington Bo Harrington 6'0" | PG Nashua-Plainfield | 2023 State IA (Nashua-Plainfield): 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 steals, 76.5 FT%
Harrington is small, listed at just 5-7, but he’s a cat-quick guard who can break down a defense and get to the bucket and the free-throw line at will. He’s a capable perimeter shooting threat, but is at his best when he’s getting to the rim or using his strong mid-range game to score in bunches.
2024 Cayde Eberling (West Fork): 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals
A 6-3 wing with great size and length, Eberling had a strong summer and will look to carry that momentum into his junior year. The Warhawks had an uncharacteristically down year last season, but Eberling will help lead them back into 1A contention this year.
2024 Max Knudsen Max Knudsen 5'10" | SG Osage | 2024 State IA (Osage): 13.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals, 47.8 FG%
A talented 5-10 guard who gets to the rim, gets others involved, and is an absolute pest on the defensive end, Knudsen looks like he’s ready to take over the Green Devils this year and be their leader. Osage’s program has been extremely consistent, and players like Knudsen, who buy into the system on both ends of the floor, are a major reason why.
Second Team
2025 Colby Eskildsen Colby Eskildsen 6'6" | SF Northwood-Kensett | 2025 State IA (Northwood-Kensett)
2025 Kooper Julseth (Northwood-Kensett)
