There were 47 teams, with only 4 teams representing NorCal, 2 from Las Vegas, 1 from AZ, the rest were from SoCal. You’ll always see quality prospects, and get good competition while in SoCal. We found NorCal standouts, who performed well against SoCal competition.
Jayden Teat Jayden Teat 6'3" | CG Capital Christian | 2023 State CA-N 6’3 2023 Guard of Cap City Cougars (Capital Christian)
Teat came to compete at this event. He showed his dual abilities to work both guard positions, mixing in scoring and being a reliable ball handler running the teams half-court sets. When he wasn’t scoring 3ptrs, and mid-range jumpers, he was aggressively penetrating the paint using good kick-out passes to other teammates. Over the 2 day event he showed us he could be a quality defender, and help lead a young group.
Marcellas Jackson Marcellas Jackson 6'6" | PF Capital Christian | 2024 State CA-N 6’5 2024 Forward of Cap City Cougars (Capital Christian)
With 4 games being played over two days, Jackson started to find ways to contribute. He’s a key part of this teams post defense. He’s started to show the bounce to go after blocks, and get rebounds out of his area. He has a solid body, and can be a point producer in the paint if he wants to. He shot, and made a couple of 3’s during the course of games. With an improved jumper, it could be a plus for him, and his team if he can knock it down consistently.
Xavion Bell Xavion Bell 5'11" | PG Weston Ranch | 2023 State CA-N 5’10 2023 PG of The Ranch Basketball Club (Weston Ranch)
Bell just goes out and plays consistent basketball when we watch, no fancy stuff, just good fundamental basketball. He’s a quality ball handler with good vision, and passing skills that’s needed up top. He found his way into the corner by transition, or spotting up for catch 3’s to knock down several buckets at key moments during a competitive contest.
Khristian Holmes Khristian Holmes 6'0" | PG Weston Ranch | 2023 State CA-N 6’0 2023 Guard of The Ranch basketball Club (Weston Ranch)
Holmes the thick body guard shows a good amount of toughness. For a team that lacks a legitimate post player, and likes to play fast, Holmes turns out to be a good rebounding guard that can push the pace, and put defenders on their heels when he gets it. He showed good handles, and consistently challenged the big boys in the paint using his body and a high touch off the glass to convert.
Darnell Hunter Darnell Hunter 6'1" | PG Grant | 2024 State CA-N Jr. 5’10 2024 Guard of Pacers Academy (Grant)
He’s a fast guard, he plays with a good level of intensity on both sides of the ball. He’s working well as a combo guard, moving and cutting without the ball. He was aggressively looking to put shots up in transition, and off ball in half-court sets. He converted a couple of open 3’s in the corner and along the perimeter. He used a solid dribble into the paint for floaters and jumpers.
