Continue ReadingWhen you look at the MOCAL, there has been some postseason success, but this year might be one of the more highly anticipated seasons as the league has one of the more exciting players in the Columbus area in the 2025 class along with a historically solid team within the past few years. This preview will likely be one of the shorter previews you will find in this series.
Predicted Order of Finish
- 1. Northside Christian– Younger team last season but returning a lot of pieces from that team. Have arguably the best underclassman in the league and one of Columbus’ best young guys in Landon Vanderwarker (So). Could be a dangerous team come tournament time.
- 2. Tree of Life– One of the more consistent programs in previous years is returning one of the top players in the league in Micah Fisher (Sr). Moving up to Division III which will provide a new look come postseason play.
- 3. Madison Christian– Losing 2 of their top 3 from a team that was runner-up in the league a year ago. Not sure if they will be battling for that spot this year, but have a shot since they finished a year ago.
- 4. Delaware Christian– Will be without Connor Beck who was 2nd Team All-District last year. Do return Matthew Tranel (Sr) who was a promising player a year ago. Could challenge Madison Christian for that #3 spot.
- 5-7 Granville Christian/Shekinah Christian/Liberty Christian– Granville Christian loses the Player of the Year from last season and their next guy. Shekinah was senior heavy last season and Liberty Christian struggled, but are returning quite a few guys including Josh Onabanjo (Sr).
