SubscribeIn this Team Preview article, we are checking out the Sharks from Iroquois-Lake Preston. This is a brand new co-op this season. The Sharks are coached by Brock Dufek. Iroquois-Lake Preston is a Class B team that competes in Region 3.
Last year, Iroquois and Lake Preston were both young teams that did not have much experience at the varsity level. This season, the new co-op will have a lot of talent and I think the coaches/players would agree with you! Read below to read about the new co-op and all things I-PL Sharks!

Off-Season
This offseason the Sharks played in a summer league and they went to a few camps that included one in Spearfish. The team bought into the summer weightlifting program, worked hard, and saw improvement.
Seniors To Watch
Logan Peskey |6’4 G/F|
He has very good court vision and can shoot from almost anywhere on the court. Peskey is a very strong kid, so he can also play down in the post as well.
Riley Casper |6’4 F|
He will be an outstanding rebounder for the Sharks. Casper is very strong and has been working hard on becoming an issue for other teams in the post.
Jake Larsen |5’10 G|
He has very good ball-handling skills and a very nice mid-range floater game. Larsen knows how to attack the gaps and get to the rim.
Tobias Arbeiter |6’1 G|
He can play anywhere on the floor. Arbeiter has unbelievable bounce and has a very well-rounded shooting game.
Jonah Denison |6’1 F|
He will do the dirty work for the Sharks. Jonah is willing to get down in the post and make the other team’s post-player work for everything.
Up-and-Coming Players
Haydon Shurson (2024) |6’1 G|
He will bring a ton of energy to the court for the Sharks. Haydon is willing to match up with the other team’s best guard and make them work for everything.
Josh McMasters (2024) |6’1 G|
They saw some glimpses last year of what Josh can bring to the floor. He has unlimited range when shooting the rock. McMasters can also handle the ball very well.
Brock Dufek talks about the style of play to expect from the Sharks
“This year we will be a full-court pressing team. I want us to run the floor and get out in transition instead of playing half-court sets.“
Coach Dufek comments on rival schools
“I am not sure who our rival would be with the new coop. I think both schools could agree on De Smet just by how dominant they have been in the past.“
Coach Dufek talks about the top teams in Region 3
“De Smet- A lot of returning talent and they have a winning culture.”
“Castlewood- Same as De Smet, they have a lot of talent returning and a winning culture.“
Good luck to the SHARKS this season!
