SubscribeThe Senate League features schools in the Cleveland area and has had some success especially on the football field in the last few years. Basketball has been a nice secondary sport to watch and follow, but after missing time due to COVID, the league has struggled to compete in the Cleveland area. Last season we saw a District champion come out of the league but one of the biggest issues I find is with following stats and notes. Therefore, this preview will likely be the shortest of any you’ll find, but will feature some of the better teams to watch.
Rhodes– The Rams took the Senate League title last year and were dominant against fellow Senate teams. While they lose one of the best players in the league last year, there is still optimism for another good run.

(Jr) had some great moments last season as an underclassman and now must shift his attention to filling the void lost. Rhodes has been one of the better teams over the last few seasons out of the league and will likely be the best team again this season.
Glenville– The Tarblooders were District champions last year and advanced to the Regional Semifinals before falling to Louisville. A senior heavy group, repeating the feat will present it’s own challenges as Glenville will lack some of the athleticism and physicality they had last year. WIth the success of the football team, Glenville may not even have their full roster until December and could take time to acclimate and get to know one another.
Unfortunately, there is not enough notes or info for me to expand on the remaining teams in the conference. Knowing what I do know about Rhodes and Glenville, they will likely be 2 of the better teams in the league and will try to have some postseason success come tournament time in February.
