Caleb Holt
Caleb Holt
Holt is a consensus top 5 player in the state regardless of class and is looking to build on a season where he was productive on a varsity level despite being in the 8th grade. With God-given athletic ability and size, Holt is one of the best underclassmen in the nation. He’s a superior run/jump athlete who is a nightmare in transition, can beat guys with his second jump on offensive rebounds, be a rim protector with highlight-worthy blocks, or put someone on a poster if he so pleases. Though he’s a dynamic athlete, Holt’s potential as a lockdown defender is high. He has the frame, speed, quickness, and length to be a legitimate multi-positional defender and make life tough for the opposing team’s best player. With unlimited potential and athleticism, expect Holt’s name to be mentioned in elite conversations on a state and national level.
Wilson is a crafty shot creator who doesn’t need a play to find space. As a perfect compliment to Holt, he’s one of the better scorers in the region despite being an underclassman. His smooth handle allows him to always be in control and get to where he wants on the court. In addition to his dribbling, Wilson can knock down shots from the perimeter with range and pose a threat at all three levels as a scorer. At 6’4, he has excellent size and skill for a combo guard and can fluctuate between 1-2 spots without a hiccup. Look for Wilson to emerge as a hidden gem in the 2025 class.
Kyler Douglass
Kyler Douglass
Douglas is an off-ball guard who provides floor spacing and is a perfect fit alongside Buckhorn’s primary scorers. He Displays comfort in catch-and-shoot situations and always seems ready for the ball. Douglas has a quick release that mitigates the effect of late closeouts and forces help defenders to stick to him. Though he’s primarily a threat as a shooter, he’s more than capable of putting the ball on the ground and getting quality looks at the rim. He’s quick and can blow by guys if they’re too close. In addition to his offensive skill set, Douglass brings experience and continuity to the offense. He’s going to cut, move to open space and find shots within the structure. Look for Douglas to be a reliable perimeter threat that will thrive alongside ball-dominant guards as a third scoring option
Carter Malires
Carter Malires
Malires is another sniper that’s going to space the floor. With a high release point and great balance on his shot, Malires will make you pay if you don’t pay him enough attention. Though he’s accurate on the shoot and catch, he’s also able to thrive as a movement shooter and can use screens well enough to free himself from the defense. Malires is also highly accurate from the deep corner, which further stretches the defense on every possession.
