Breakout Season on the Way

We take a look at a few players that we believe will have a breakout season in the class of 2023.

Taki Uluilakepa Taki Uluilakepa 5'11" | CG Puyallup | 2023 UT || Timpview High School ||

Taki will no longer be in a log jam at the lead guard position. Taki will be able to use his high level competition in his previous stops that in practice and games he will be able to take this team to another level. Taki has some superior ball handling that will allow players like James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT and Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT get some easier looks. When it comes to pressure he can single handedly beat the pressure all by himself. Taki is poised to have a breakout season as he did on the football firld were he has accepted an offer to play.

Brock Mendoza Brock Mendoza 6'9" | C Layton | 2023 State UT || Layton High School ||

A few times here and there you see a player that you might have not seen playing on a circuit just explode and things just click and they go from there. Brock is that player that has really started to blossom. He is big and long and that 6’10 frame is starting to get used and he is starting to make the best of his talents. Can’t imagine some school not taking a chance on him and the development that a 4 years school will do to him could be amazing. Till then he should have a breakout season.

Kevin Doe Kevin Doe 6'5" | CG East | 2023 State UT || East High School ||

Kevin is playing at a different level now. When he has been aggressive he is different. The way he can explode to the rim and create contact or absorb contact is unreal. He is not only going to have a good senior season he is going to need to really work all those stats to get East some wins. Kevin is a solid next level athlete that can compete at the college level.

Jaxon Kerekes Jaxon Kerekes 6'5" | CG Riverton | 2023 State UT || Riverton High School ||

It is always dangerous when you have a player with size that can play multiple positions and also take over a game with some high level scoring. Riverton might not be on anyones list to make a lot of noise but with Jaxon on the squad and locked in for his senior year he could be trouble for the region and other teams they have on the schedule.

Jaxson Roberts || Corner Canyon ||

Jaxson has turned that corner and he is not looking back. Elite PG in the making and the young fella has been playing at a high level like no other. Jaxon is not only creating for his teammates he is also taking his actually scoring game to another level. Not only against some local teams but against some power house programs. Jaxson went from a reluctant guard to a guard that will put you on a poster if you do not rotate fast enough. Might play himself up on the offer charts. Stay tuned because I think this is just the beginning from Jaxson.
