#6 Olympus, Titans
Olympus is one of the most consistent programs in the state. For the past 5-7 years or even more they have been the hunted. This year they could be that team that just out-shoots everyone and makes their way to the top again. Olympus will go from the hunted to the hunters. They will be lead by two of the best players in the Class of 2024 in Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State #310 Nation UT and Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT . Dutch is one of the more feared shooters in the state that can change things quickly with his shooting. Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT is one of the Top PG’s in the West as he can create and score. Has been one of the top distributors in the country. They will get some additional help from Joe Johnson as he will likely take over as the post but don’t count out the Titans as they will be one f those deep teams in 5A that can compete with anyone.
#7 Skyline, Eagles
Skyline has been a team that has had some talent on their roster and a lot of those talented players are now seniors. Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT is one of the most athletic pound for pound players in the state. He is an electric player that can score. Peter Broadbent Peter Broadbent 6'2" | CG Skyline | 2023 State UT is another solid guard that can shoot the ball well from deep and he has a good handle as well. Landon Shaw Landon Shaw 6'6" | PF Skyline | 2024 State UT could really be a difference maker as Landon can run the floor and defend.
#8 Cottonwood, Colts
Cottonwood has been building a culture changing program and this could be another year they move in the right direction. They will be lead by Class of 2024 rising wing Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ who can score from all over and play the big if needed. At around 6’6 Aiden Oliphant is another solid scoring guard that is a two way player. Max Russo Max Russo 6'1" | PG Cottonwood | 2023 State UT can really shoot the ball. They have a solid team and could catch someone sleeping on them.
#9 Timpview, Thunderbirds
Timpview is in the middle of a youth movement as they will have some new pieces that will need to step up immediately. Keep an eye on big time incoming freshman Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT . He has size and just overall scoring ability from all three-levels. He is throwing it down with ease and force now as he matured a lot playing up this past summer. James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT will be solid as a he is a big guard that can punish smaller guards in the post. Taki Uluilakepa Taki Uluilakepa 5'11" | CG Puyallup | 2023 UT is going to really help them at PG this year. They will have some more names pop up that will help them compete at a high level.
#10 Payson, Lions
Payson will have its leading scorer come back as Isaac Wolfe Isaac Wolfe 6'1" | PG Payson | 2023 State UT can absolutely spray the ball from all over. Cooper Swasey is another guard that can help with the scoring as well. Payson always seems to put a solid team together.
