Take a look at Part III of some 336 prospects to keep an eye on in the high school ranks in 2022-23.
– North Surry High
Lynch is a dual-sport athlete with quite the pedigree on the hardwood and gridiron for North Surry High. He came on strong late for his squad last season, with a late start due to football season, in leading them to deep in the state playoffs last season. He’s a shifty guard that keeps defenders guessing with his ability to attack the paint and knock down shots on all three levels. The bouncy 6-foot-1 guard averaged 21.7 ppg, 5.4 apg, 4.9 rpg and 2.3 spg on 48 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point land.
– North Surry High
McCreary is another piece in the North Surry High backcourt alongsideto keep an eye on in the 336 area. He was right behind Lynch this past season in the rotation with 19.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.6 apg and 2.4 spg as quite the 1-2 combination. They should be hard to beat once again in conference play after going 12-0 in 2021-22 in league action.
– The Burlington School
Lassiter is a new face in The Burlington School rotation that’s set to make a splash in 2022-23. He was quite the scoring machine for Trinity Christian School in Fayetteville this past season, posting 20.2 ppg and 6.5 rpg while showing off his ability to be a mobile forward in the lineup. The 6-foot-7 forward will look to show his growth with the Spartans as they look to keep up the success under a new regime.
– Easy Forsyth High
Gray is a strong guard prospect that’s quite the two-way presence over at East Forsyth High. He managed to pour in 19.8 ppg this past season while showing off his ability to operate off the bounce and knock-down shots in the midrange area. Look for him to be a key piece for his squad once again this season.
– Piedmont Classical
Watkins is a sizeable guard prospect at 6-foot-3 that’s come a long way in the Burlington Christian Academy rotation. He averaged 19.3 ppg, 5.9 apg, 5.2 rpg and 2.7 spg in the Royals’ backcourt in 2021-22. He’ll look to be a leading face for Piedmont Classical as they look to make some moves with some new blood in their rotation.
