The 2023 forward class just got a little bit smaller asand committed to Montclair State and Muhlenberg, respectively. The former is one of the top forwards in Group 4 and the group is still filled with talent in the frontcourt. Here are the 2023 top available forward prospects in Group 4.
, 6’5 SF Newark East Side
Wilson is set for a big senior season for the Red Raiders as he affects the game in a variety of ways. The 6’5 wing attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong above the rim and can draw contact in the paint. Wilson has a solid handle, which he uses to get into the paint and rises up over smaller defenders on his jumper. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Wilson is a lanky, two-way wing prospect who should put up big numbers for Newark East Side in 2022-23.
, 6’6 PF Freehold Township
Holmes-Cotter is one of the top returning scorers in the Shore Conference and has a shot to take home the scoring title this season. The 6’6 forward knows how to get position down low and finishes through contact around the basket. Holmes-Cotter has a nice touch in the paint and can knock down jumpers in the mid-range. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Holmes-Cotter is a physical forward prospect whose ability to make plays around the basket will help his stock in a big way.
, 6’4 F Franklin
Snowden had a big summer with Team United, which should carry over into the winter season. The 6’4 forward has a good face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and knock down shots behind the arc. Snowden has a good touch around the basket and consistently draws contact in the paint. He crashes the glass with a purpose and is an underrated defender. Snowden will be the go-to guy for Franklin this season, which should help his stock in a big way.
, 6’4 SF Ridgewood
Rogers was a key part of Ridgewood’s sectional title last season and will have a big role again in 2022-23. The 6’4 wing has a good handle, which he uses to get by his defender and finish around the basket. Rogers plays under control in the half court as he rarely rushes shots and gets to his spot on the floor. He has the athleticism to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Rogers has the potential to breakout this season with his ability to make plays at both ends of the floor.
, 6’5 PF South Brunswick
Chhabra will be a forward to watch in the GMC as he does what it takes to help his team win. The 6’5 forward has a soft touch around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Chhabra makes good passes in the half court and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and dives on the floor for loose balls.
