James, chose the Bearcats over Georgia and LSU in a social media announcement. In our latest Prep Hoops rankings, James comes in as the 4th ranked prospect in this year’s senior class.
James is known to have a quick release on his shot and can make them at a high rate. In 28 games last season for Olympia High School, James averaged 25.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
What will James bring to the University of Cincinnati? James has toughness and a quick first-step at getting to the basket with his pure athleticism and leadership skills. He has a very high basketball IQ and loves to get his teammates involved in the action. With his maturity, James will be able to understand Wes Miller’s offense and step in right away next season as a freshman.
The 6-1 guard will look to gain consistency on his outside shot, as he made just 31 percent of his shots from beyond the arc as a junior last season. In the long term, we can expect James to be in the starting lineup for at least two seasons in a Bearcat uniform.
