2023 3-star PF Jayden Hastings commits to Boston College

Hastings chose the Eagles over Iowa and UCF, where he is now the second commit in the upcoming class to commit as he joins Texas native Fred Payne. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last season for Orlando Christian Prep, Hastings averaged 5.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game, while shooting 66 percent from the field as a junior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hastings, recently took an official visit to Boston College where it was his first time in Boston. "I enjoyed the atmosphere and the coaches were really outstanding to me" Hastings said following the visit. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Other than the coaches, I thought some of the players were really welcoming for me and my family" Hastings added.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>What will Hastings bring to Boston College?</strong> Rim protection and his leadership skills on the defensive side, as he is still working to add to his offensive game to provide big minutes for the Eagles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In our latest Prep Hoops rankings, Hastings comes into the season as the 14th overall ranked player in the state and the 3rd ranked power forward. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
