Here at Prep Hoops PA, our updated 2023 rankings dropped on Monday and a variety of talented players are being covered this week. The staff at Prep Hoops Pennsylvania has diligently gathered information and worked extremely hard to develop an extraordinarily comprehensive list of over 500 high school basketball student-athletes. This group of seniors has the balance of talent to be the most heavily recruited group in a long time throughout the state. Many young men have been in constant communication with college coaches, while a large number of others are starting to garner collegiate attention as well. Listed below are the skilled performers that entered the rankings at a high level for our current update.
Jumped in at – #7 Khali Horton Khali Horton 6'8" | SF Keystone Athletic Academy | 2023 PA / 6’9 wing forward / Keystone Athletic Academy – Khali moved back to the state of Pennsylvania and immediately jumped into the top 10 of the rankings. This young man has the natural ability and skill to dominate a game every time he steps on the hardwood.
Jumped in at – #30 Jaydis Kennedy Jaydis Kennedy 6'3" | CG Geibel | 2023 State PA / 6’3 combo guard / Geibel High School – Jaydis came on the scene last high school season and just completely “took over” contests for his squad. He was a significant force that showed the leadership qualities necessary to make a deep playoff run.
Jumped in at – #33 Jonathan Anderson / 6’0 point guard / New Castle High School – Jonathan produced on the court on both ends of the floor for the Red Hurricanes. His court awareness, skilled ball handling, and precision passing are positive assets in this young man’s arsenal.
Jumped in at – #46 Josh Jenkins Josh Jenkins 6'3" | SF Sto-Rox | 2023 State PA / 6’3 wing forward / Sto-Rox High School – Josh brings the football mentality and toughness to the hardwood for the Vikings. When the ball is tossed up his game goes to another level running the floor and locking down” defense.
Jumped in at – #50 Debaba Tshiebwe Debaba Tshiebwe 6'6" | PF Central Catholic | 2023 State PA / 6’6 power forward / Central Catholic High School – Debaba is a brutal force on the inside with strong post moves for easy buckets and thunderous slam dunks. On the defensive end of the court, he alters shots and blocks between 5 and 10 each game.
Jumped in at – #68 James Wesling James Wesling 6'0" | SG Baldwin | 2023 State PA / 6’0 shooting guard / Baldwin High School – James is a long range sniper who can “light up” the scoreboard immediately for his high school team. His high basketball IQ and sound fundamentals are both major assets to his game.
Jumped in at – #74 Dajuan Young Dajuan Young 6'1" | SF New Castle | 2023 State PA / 6’1 wing forward / New Castle High School – Dajuan has the athletic ability to create havoc on defense while bringing the energy to finish in transition for his team.
Jumped in at – #106 Cam Griel / 5’9 point guard / Fox Chapel High School – Cam is finally getting his opportunity as a senior to show his advanced skillset and prove his time will be filled with scoring, passing, steals, and all-out hustle. This young man is ready to showcase what he could have a few years ago.
