Xavier Ogle Xavier Ogle 5'8" | PG Rancho Bernardo | 2023 State CA-S – PG – 5’9” – 2023 Rancho Bernardo
As one of the smallest players out there in every game, that did not matter in the least bit. He scores well from both the inside and out, but his ability to get to a spot and pull up over anybody at any time is what stood out the most.
Logan Jereczek – SG – 6’2” – 2023 Chino Hills
The crafty lefty in the bunch is able to do so much on a basketball court, at times it was mesmerizing. The majority of the time he served as a slashing guard by getting to the paint and either going up against the bigs or dishing it out for open threes. When he wasn’t doing that he was a lights-out shooter.
Brandon Ivery Brandon Ivery 6'4" | SG Gahanna Lincoln | 2023 OH – SG – 6’4” – 2023 Aquinas
With a jump shot that got better throughout the day, he was one of the strongest guys in the gym. He uses that to his advantage by continuing to attack and never settling for tough shots. He will continue to work until he gets himself or one of his teammates a good shot.
Derek Pangilinan – SG – 6’1” – 2023 Desert
Showed flashes of dominance as a shooter when he was both wide open and when contested. When put in situation he thrived on making tough shots as his way of contributing to his team.
Donovan Saiyad Donovan Saiyad 5'10" | PG Vallejo | 2023 State CA-N – PG – 5’10” – 2023 Vallejo
His description is pretty simple. He was the fastest player in the whole gym. He blows by anyone on sight and uses that quickness in everything he does. As a shorter player he still is able to use his body well and finish against the trees.
These five players in the 2023 California class should be looked out for as they continue to outscore their competition with their pure skill and all the work they clearly put in every day in the gym.
