This will without a doubt be our most extensive class to date, with several classes seeing a significant increase in players. We begin with the c/o 2023 which will be released first and features several potential scholarship athletes. The last few months have provided me with a perfect opportunity to evaluate tons of players. Keep an eye on these players being sleepers, stockrisers or new additions when the new rankings are released.
Devin Mabry Devin Mabry 6'6" | PF Spring Valley | 2023 State NV 6’6 PF Spring Valley (#43PHN) – I’ve seen a lot of him this summer, and have a good handle on exactly what I think he is. High Academic, athletic bigs are rare, and all those traits describe Marby. Look for him to make some noise in a few of the categories, as he’ll be a prospect on several coaches’ radars throughout the year.
Charles Riley Charles Riley 6'7" | C Legacy | 2023 State NV 6’8 C Legacy – Riley made a huge impression on me with his play during the Grizzles Classic. Big man showed power and athleticism, finishing on the rim several times. I haven’t seen him since then, so still hard to gauge exactly where he is, however with what he showed this summer, he has to be somewhere on the radar.
Jahmon Haylock Jahmon Haylock 5'9" | PG Foothill | 2023 State NV 5’10 PG Foothill (#20PHN) (featured image) – Haylock may be the most consistent player in the class. For 3 seasons, the PG has been a tempo-changing jitterbug that’s been impossible for anyone to stay in front of. I don’t expect that to change at all this season. I want to see what if any improvements he’s made shooting the ball, and on the defensive end, however, watch for some rankings movement from him.
Wyatt Jaeck Wyatt Jaeck 6'7" | PF Arbor View | 2023 State NV 6’8 PF Arbor View (#45PHN) – Jaeck looks the part, and that is going to factor into his final ranking. He backs it up with tremendous athleticism. Jaeck’s ability to run the floor and finish above the rim is valuable. He’ll be part of a talented Arbor squad. His impact for them this season is worth keeping an eye on.
Cameron Lawson Cameron Lawson 6'2" | SG Red Rock | 2023 State NV 6’2 SG Legacy – Lawson contributed a bit for Legacy last year, however, he could be poised for a breakout season. The wing is athletic and can score the basketball in 1 v 1 situations. He’s simply too good of a prospect not to be in the rankings and may touch on all three categories when the latest rankings come out.
Jalen Wright Jalen Wright 6'2" | SG Sierra Vista | 2023 State NV 6’2 SG Sierra Vista – Wright should make an impact for a good Sierra Vista squad. The lefty is fast and can score in transition. He should help with perimeter defense as well. He is a transfer from Texas so I haven’t seen a lot of him, but has a chance to be an important piece of a good team, so definitely a player worth keeping an eye on.
