This will without a doubt be our most extensive class to date, with several classes seeing a significant increase in players. The class of 2024 is perhaps the deepest we’ve had in years with several potential D1 athletes on the roster. With a class this deep, there are bound to be some new players on the list. Here’s a look at some potential new additions to look for when the 2024 rankings come out.
David Bailey David Bailey 6'4" | PF Sierra Vista | 2024 State NV 6’4 PF Arbor View – Got the benefit of watching him at the expo. Loved the energy and effort he played with, and he managed to make a few plays around the rim. He was in the rankings as a younger player, so it’s only right that he earns his way back onto the list.
Collin McCoy Collin McCoy 6'0" | SG Las Vegas | 2023 NV 6’0 SG Las Vegas – McCoy caught my eye playing this summer in the Grizzlies Classic. I liked the aggressiveness he played with and he showed the ability to shoot the ball. Only saw him a few times, but I liked what he brought to the team. Not sure exactly where he’ll land, but he did enough to be on the radar.
Louis Mandar Louis Mandar 6'5" | PF Sierra Vista | 2024 NV 6’5 PF Sierra Vista – I’ve got a chance to see the transfer from Africa, quite a bit over the last few weeks. Mandar has size and plays with good speed. He’ll be a contributor for a good H.S squad look for him to sit firmly in the rankings.
Elijah Engfer Elijah Engfer 6'1" | SG Pinecrest Cadence | 2024 State NV 6’1 SG Pinercrest Cadence – Perhaps a deep sleeper, look for Engfer to make an appearance on the list. Got to see him earlier this month and I’m still impressed by his skills. Shoots it a little, can score it, and is a decent athlete.
Caprice Brown Caprice Brown 6'5" | SG Spring Valley | 2024 State NV 6’5 SG Palo Verde – Brown will be one of the highest-ranked new additions. Now I’m interested to see if he validates it during the high school season. Love his frame, and his ability to make corner threes. It will be interesting to watch his production and consistency this year, for what should be an underrated Palo squad.
Tru Young Tru Young 6'5" | SF Mater Academy | 2024 State NV 6’4 SF Mater East (featured image) – Saw young recently at the Prephoops Expo and was impressed. He has good positional size and showed off some advanced finishing moves. I need to learn more about Mater East, and his track record with them, but he has the look of a potential prospect as well as a new addition.
Faris Mucharbach Faris Mucharbach 6'9" | C Bishop Gorman | 2024 State NV 6’7 PF Bishop Gorman – Saw Murcharbach early and late in the Summer season. He has size and can offer some rim protection and rebounding. Slim chance he will see the floor for the state powerhouse, however, Gorman has a track record of developing and sending bigs on to play at the next level.
Takeo Moore Takeo Moore 6'7" | PF Red Rock | 2024 State NV 6’7 PF Palo Verde – Moore has more than size. He provides length and is a good R&J athlete. I have been impressed with him a little more each time I’ve seen him play. Look for the athletic forward to be one of the highest new additions on the list, as he may have the opportunity to make a huge impact for Palo this season.
