Continue ReadingAlthough it’s already been a week and a half since the Oregon Top 250 Expo, our coverage of the event here on Prep Hoops is not done yet. For the rest of this week, we will take a look at each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player.
Here’s a look at Team Two:
Grant Olsen Grant Olsen 6'5" | SF Hermiston | 2024 State OR (2024 Hermiston)
Hidden in Hermiston, Olsen made a mark for himself at the Expo with his length and ability to score around the basket but also the versatility to step out and hit jumpers. There’s no question the 6-foot-5 forward will be a great excuse to keep an eye on WIAA hoops in Eastern Oregon.
Aidan Rice Aidan Rice 6'2" | PG Beaverton | 2024 State OR (2024 Beaverton)
Rice has made his reputation as an outside shooter but at the Expo he showed his talents as a passer and someone who plays with the feel for the game. His stock has been rising ever since the state tournament and should continue to rise this season. He was also featured in the “Top All-Around” article.
Diego Garcia Diego Garcia 6'0" | CG Reynolds | 2026 State OR (2026 Central Catholic)
A power guard, Garcia used his mature body to get past defenders both his own age and older. Central Catholic is deep but it appears that the 6-foot guard may get an opportunity sooner rather than later at the start of his high school career.
Kalim Brown Kalim Brown 6'0" | CG Tigard | 2023 State OR (2023 Tigard)
One of the event’s top scorers, Brown did damage at all three levels. His three-point shot was on automatic, but he also created off the dribble and was outstanding in tradition. He was also featured in the “Top Scorers (Guards)” article.
Quincy Townsend Quincy Townsend 6'2" | CG Mountain View | 2024 State OR (2024 Mountain View)
Townsend can equally score and distribute and his choice was to focus more on the former during the Expo. He did a good job hitting perimeter jumpers both catch-and-shoot and pull-ups, and used his body effectively around the basket. He was also featured in the “Top Scorers (Guards)” article.
Max Juhala Max Juhala 6'5" | SF West Linn | 2024 State OR (2024 West Linn)
A lanky lefty, Juhala hit corner threes as we’ve come to expect from him but also showed an improved ability of creating off the bounch. He was also very good in finishing in transition. He should be a key player in the West Linn rotation this season.
Evan Heisler Evan Heisler 6'9" | C Lincoln | 2024 State OR (2024 Lincoln)
One of the event’s top big men – as detailed in the “Top Big Men” article – Heisler finished strong around the basket, ran the floor well, and was a factor on the boards and defense. His improvement and upside continue to make him an intriguing prospect, perhaps even at the D-I level.
Jermaine Anthony Baguyo (2023 Maui-HI)
Similar to high school teammate Dedrick Sabas Jr., Baguyo showed great hustle and intensity on the defensive end and was a valuable hustle player. It would not be surprising to hear the duo being considered one of the top defensive backcourts in Hawaii.
Justin Han Justin Han 6'1" | SG Valley Catholic | 2025 State OR (2025 Valley Catholic)
Han started slowly but found his groove and knocked down open threes as we’ve seen him do in the past. He’s currently at his best as a spot-up shooter but as his skills and body progress, we fully expect him to be more of a multi-dimensional offensive threat.
Josh Peeler (2023 Grant)
Peeler helped serve as a glue guy for Team 2. The Grant senior has a high motor and played solid team ball throughout the event, making the right pass or defensive stop as needed.
