Continue ReadingA lightning-quick 6-0 point guard who holds a pair of offers from Bryant and IUPUI, Porter averaged 17.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists a game as a junior for the Tigers. He has excellent handles and a great first step that he uses to blow by defenders and get to the rim. He has really improved as a shooting threat over the last two years, knocking down nearly 45% of his 3-point attempts last year.
Highlights
Kirkman is an extremely talented 6-8 big man who impacts the game in a major way on both ends of the floor. The Augustana (SD) commit averaged 20.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.9 blocks a game as a junior. He has excellent footwork and touch around the bucket, scoring with either hand with a variety of go-to post moves. He’s a really good passer out of the post and an outstanding interior defender.
Highlights
An athletic, mobile 6-6 big man, Benjamin has been an excellent complement to Porter throughout the last three years. He averaged 14.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks a game as a junior, showing his ability to score inside at a highly efficient clip with either hand as well as protect the paint. He can defend on the perimeter, run the floor, rebound on both ends, and finish above the rim.
A talented off-ball guard who moves really well without the ball in his hands, Patterson averaged a team-high 16.1 points a game as a junior for the Demons. He’s a much better shooter than his percentages last year (34.2 3P%) showed and he’ll be the focal point of opposing game plans this season.
A bouncy, athletic 6-5/6-6 big man, Weaton was incredibly efficient as a junior, averaging 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds while shooting over 60% from the floor. He’s a good rim-runner who finishes really well around the bucket with either hand, and he’s a dominant rebounder on both ends of the floor.
Highlights
A skilled 6-2 wing, Borbeck shot over 37% from behind the arc as a junior for the Spartans while averaging 13.5 points a game. He’s a solid defender who can bang with bigger bodies in the paint or defend on the perimeter and he’s a really good shooter off the catch.
An athletic wing who can make a major impact on the defensive end, Lewis does a great job getting into passing lanes and turns defense into quick and easy offense. He needs to improve his perimeter shooting, but he’s a good slashing wing who can put the ball on the floor and create for himself and others.
An undersized forward, Klostermann is a really good rebounder (4.3 a game last season, 1.7 offensive) who plays with a non-stop motor. He provides some toughness and versatility on the defensive end and he’s a good finisher around the rim.
A hard-nosed point guard who gets others involved and plays strong on-ball defense, Kilburg is the type of lead guard who is going to do all the little things needed for a successful team.
A long and talented 6-5 wing, Gourley had a breakout junior year for the Bears, averaging 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.5 steals a game. He still needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooting threat, but he has great size, handles it fairly well, and finishes around the rim with either hand.
