#25 Kaden Tate 2024 Shadow Creek High School
Kaden is a long wing who has a knack for affecting the game on both ends of the floor. His long arms seem to swallow up defenders when defending on the ball and he knows when to time up steals by poking the ball free. He came ip with multiple steals that allowed for some highlight real dunks on the break. He truly thrives on the fast break and finishes very efficiently when running the court. His length allows him to be an incredibly efficient finisher at the rim. I also loved watching him attack the basket as a rebounder and try to get extra possessions for his team. I would like to see him become more effective with a live dribble in the half court, and work out of operating out of the triple threat and getting to his spots in the midrange off the dribble.
#24 Jamir Major 2024 6’2 Manvel High School, TX (Next Level Elite 2024)
Jamir is a ferocious player as he works to get downhill and really thrives off his ability to create separation in both the half court and the full court. In the open floor, he uses his end to end speed with a live dribble to beat his opponents down the court. He has a lightning quick crossover which allows him to create space within the half court and rise above his defender from any of the three levels of the floor. He is a confident shooter off the bounce who always seems to take what the defense gives him, and willingly lives in the midrange. I was very impressed with his ability to finish at the rim, and change his shot angle when necessary to avoid defenders. He is not just a scorer at the guard position however, he is a smart playmaker who always finds the open man on the fast break. On the defensive end of the floor, he is an aware player who often comes up with steals with his active hands and intense on ball defense. He is great at using his speed to his advantage after forcing a turnover and blowing past his opponent as he goes coast to coast.
#23 Trevis Black 2024 6’4 Foster High School, TX (CyFair Elite HTX 2023)
Trevis is an athletic wing who has the ability to quickly change directions and keep his opponents off balance with his handle. He is a very impressive player in the full court where he routinely got around his opponent with not only his handle but his creative spin moves and euro steps to evade a second defender. I was very impressed with the agility he displayed in the full court and the ease in which he got to the basket. He showed an ability to catch and shoot from the corners and the wings with ease. He has a natural ability to score by simply rising up above his opponent. I would like to see him work on his consistency in the paint and his awareness getting around his opponent down low. He could be a bit more patient with his back to the basket, he can score over most opponents with ease but can work on converting more in the post.
#22 Luke Reder Luke Reder 6'5" | SG Tomball Memorial | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Tomball Memorial High School
Luke is a sharp shooting combo guard who has the ability to hang thirty on any night. He has a very consistent release and his height allows him to shoot over the top of most guards. He is great at moving without the basketball and can quickly set his feet and square up to the rim for a good look. He can operate out of the high post and create offense for his teammates as well, drawing the attention of the defense as soon as he puts his head down and then accurately making the right read to his open shooters. Tomball Memorial lost to a very good Cypress Falls team in the first round.
#21 Jermauri Blake 2024 6’0 Humble High School, TX (North Houston Hustle 2024 National)
Jermauri is a high level guard who is great at using his athleticism and overall feel for the game to stand out above his peers. He is an incredibly aware player who thrives off his ability to turn defense to offense, and run the fast break. He showed off an incredibly high basketball IQ through his ability to play in the passing lanes but also use his active hands to create turnovers. He calmly creates opportunities for his teammates, and can do so with flair to keep the defense off balance. I saw him make two nasty no look passes on the break that set up a teammate for a wide open look. He is always a threat to get to the rim and finish at the cup. He confidently plays through contact and can adjust his shot angle, allowing him to easily finish in the paint, even over bigger competition. Eventually, defense have enough of him dancing around their guard up top and getting to the rim with ease, and forced him to go to the free throw line where he always seemed to be when I looked over at their court. Blake is a prospect you need to keep your eye on!
