#20 Gary Brown III Gary Brown III 5'10" | PG Pasadena Memorial | 2024 TX 2024 5’10 Pasadena Memorial High School, TX (TJ Ford Basketball 2023)
Highlights
Gary is the next high level point guard to come out of the TJ Ford Basketball program. He is an incredibly dynamic and aware point guard who knows how to pass his teammates open, but also scores off the bounce with the best of them. He is a lightning quick point guard who creates separation with every crossover he makes. I was very impressed by the control he displayed when operating out of the pick and roll and the timely decision he made that round his teammates open at just the right time. Where Brown really makes his mark is his ability to hit shots from beyond the arc off the bounce. In one game he hit 7 threes, and finished with 28 points. He calmly manipulated his defender until they gave him just enough space to rise up. He even knocked one in from the logo which forced the other team to call a timeout and their coach demand he gets picked up as soon as he crosses half court.
#19 Isaiah Brooks Isaiah Brooks 6'6" | SF Klein | 2024 TX 2024 6’6 Klein High School
Isaiah is the definition of an hustle player with his energy, aggressiveness and motor all on full display. His willingness to do anything to help his team win is very impressive, he protects the rim, dives on the floor for loose balls and plays high level defense on quicker guards. His consistency and ability to finish around the rim really stood out. His aggressiveness is a real factor in this. He is not afraid to go through or over his defender to get to his spot in the paint. With his energy, willingness to do all of the dirty work, and run the floor he can leak out for easy opportunities and finish on the break. He is the ideal do it all prospect, and looks to have an incredibly mold-able game.
#18 Cameron Patterson Cameron Patterson 6'5" | SG Summer Creek | 2024 State #324 Nation TX 2024 6’4 Summer Creek High School
Cameron is a high level combo guard with his ability to affect the game on the perimeter, dancing around his opponents with his handle but also slashing and cleaning up his opponents mistakes. He has an incredibly crafty handle which allows him to create separation from seemingly anyone on the court. In the open court, he is smart at using crossovers and his opponents momentum against them, stopping on a dime to find a pass to a cutting teammate, or quickly crossing back over to attack the rim. He is a very versatile prospect with his ability to slash, play on the interior and rebound, but also score in the midrange and beyond the arc. He makes his mark as a slasher, which opens up the rest of the court for him as the defense begins to sit back and try to take away driving angles. His frame seems to be constantly growing, both vertically but also with his strength. He has added a ton of weight since the last year, and looks to be using it fully to his advantage on the court.
#17 Alantheon Winn 2024 6’5 Little Cypress Mauriceville High School (TJ Ford Basketball 2023)
Alantheon was a man amongst boys during his time on the court at the Space City Collision, using his length and athleticism to wreak havoc on both ends of the court. He is an incredibly strong finisher in the paint, and has all of the athleticism to get him into the teeth of the defense every time down the court. The consistency that he showed in the paint was elite, as he displayed impressive layups with either hand and contorted his body in the air to avoid contact. He is not just a slasher, he showed an ability to knock down shots off the catch from the wings and corners. The attention that he draws allows him to be a smart playmaker, and make all of the right reads. I was most impressed by his overall on court intelligence he displayed on both ends of the floor. You can tell he is really thinking the game at a very high level, and mistakes he makes once normally do not happen again. He has a very impressive leaping ability that allows him to play down low whenever is necessary on the defensive end, and is a good help side defender. He knows when to slide over to help a teammate who got beat off the bounce, and has quick feet to go defend the pass to the perimeter.
#16 Carson Lemmer 2024 6’4 Tomball Memorial High School (Hardwork Basketball Academy)
Carson is a confident wing who can score from all three levels of the floor with ease. He has a great frame with a constant aggressive nature in which he plays the game, making him a complete game changer with his ability to do it all on the offensive end of the court. He made very impressive plays on the fast break, finishing thunderous dunks and making the right reads to set up his teammates for easy looks in transition. He moved without the ball in the half court and caught his defenders slipping with backdoor cuts and consistent motion on the perimeter. His ability to consistently knock down shots on the outside made him an elite offensive weapon, and there was nothing that defenders could do to stop his game once his shot began to fall. Where I was most impressed with his game was his ability to make the right reads and facilitate on the perimeter, at the high post or with his back to the basket. He made beautiful cross court passes to set up shooters in the corner, his passes were always made with enough pace to get by a defender and always seemed to be right in their shooting pocket to allow them to quickly get shots up. I know I will be keeping tabs on his development over the next two years…
