Brandon Dean Brandon Dean 5'10" | PG South Plainfield | 2024 NLG , 5’10 PG South Plainfield
Dean is the top available prospect in Group 3 and will be one to watch this winter. The 5’10 lead guard has a tight handle and a quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender to get to the rim. Dean is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can shoot either off the dribble or catch. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and gets deflections on the defensive end. Dean is a scoring lead guard who should continue to put up big numbers this season.
Noah Taylor Noah Taylor 6'5" | PF Colonia | 2023 State NJ , 6’5 SF/PF Colonia
Taylor will be the go-to guy in the post for the Patriots as they look to retain their North 2 Group 3 title. The 6’5 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to get position down low and can finish through contact. Taylor has a nice touch around the basket and is developing more confidence on his jumper. He is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Taylor is a physical forward prospect who should have a big season for Colonia in 2022-23.
Josh Michigan Josh Michigan 6'4" | SG Compass Prep | 2024 State NJ , 6’4 SG Brick Memorial
Michigan had a breakout 2021-22 season for the Mustangs as he had eight 20-point games. The 6’4 guard has a smooth release on his jumper as he wastes little motion in his shot and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Michigan is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the basket from the perimeter and can draw contact in the paint. He moves well without the ball in his hands and has an underrated handle. Michigan is a sharpshooting guard who should continue to put up big numbers for Brick Memorial this season.
Nick Valentino Nick Valentino 6'0" | PG Red Bank Regional | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Red Bank Regional
Valentino had a solid summer with the Jersey Shore Predators, which should carry over into the winter. The 6’0 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get to the basket and can finish through contact. Valentino has a nice touch on his floater and sets his feet before he shoots. He is a solid passer and works hard on the defensive end. Valentino is a hard-working guard prospect who will be one to watch in the Shore Conference this season.
Maurice Crump Maurice Crump 5'8" | PG Burlington Township | 2023 State NJ , 5’8 PG Burlington Township
Crump helped the Falcons get to the South Jersey Group 3 title game and will be looking to help them get back there. The 5’8 floor general has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Crump has a good floater and can knock down open jumpers from the perimeter. He excels at pushing the pace in transition and gets his teammates involved in the halfcourt.
