Here is a closer look at some of the new players who debuted in this week’s Prep Hoops Maryland 2023 Rankings Update.

#31 | Ralph Martino Ralph Martino 6'7" | SF Shabach Christian Academy | 2023 MD | 6’6″ SF | Shabach Christian Academy (MD)

Martino was considered of the top players in Northern Virginia’s public school ranks last year while at Champe. His arrival at Shabach Christian is a significant one. Martino is a confident ball-handler who will offer versatility and playmaking potential on both ends of the floor.

#82 | Staccardo Washington Staccardo Washington 6'5" | PF Wise | 2023 State MD | 6’5″ PF | Wise (MD)

Washington enjoyed a productive summer with Prospect U. He is expected to be among the better players in PG County next season at Wise and will be one to watch throughout the upcoming campaign.

#90 | Gabriel Jones Gabriel Jones 6'3" | SG Archibshop Carroll | 2023 State MD | 6’3″ SG | Carroll (DC)

Jones will bring his talents from Colonial Forge in Virginia to Archbishop Carroll. He is a big guard with a smooth all-around game. The Lions will welcome the Firepower that Jones will bring to their squad.

#106 | Jahsan Johnson Jahsan Johnson 5'9" | PG St. Maria Goretti | 2023 State MD | 5’9″ PG | Goretti (MD)

Johnson has been steady at the point for Coach McCray at Goretti. He competes defensively and doesn’t get sped up on the ball offensively. As one of the Gaels’ senior players, Johnson will have plenty of responsibility but should be up to the task.

#109 | Amanuel Tucker Amanuel Tucker 6'7" | C Maret | 2023 State MD | 6’7″ C | Maret (DC)

You won’t find many who’ve improved at a quicker rate than Tucker in the last several months. His body has transformed completely. Tucker’s offensive game is also improving. He could be a double-double threat each time he takes the floor for the Frogs this winter.
