Today we take a look at a mixture of backcourt players who are in positions to have big senior years and make a solid final impression as HS hoopers in the Garden State.
Sean Agard | 6’0” | G| Irvington
Irvington struggled as a team last year but Agard had a banner year. A solid offensive player with good handles and a quick first step. He can finish in contact but also step beyond the arc and hit with consistency. Good release on his shot. He had 31 vs Newark Tech and 24 vs Immaculate Conception as top games last year. They played a tough schedule but Agard kept them competitive. D3s should be interested as he can score in bunches.
Isiah Stang Isiah Stang 5'8" | PG Fort Lee | 2023 State NJ | 5’8” | G | Fort Lee
Stang led Fort Lee as a junior. He’s a good ballhandler who is fearless attacking bigger defenders and drawing contact. A tough defender who also found the positioning to grab 100 rebounds as he led Fort Lee to an impressive 18 win season. He should get interest from D3s this winter.
Jordan Winnik Jordan Winnik 6'2" | CG St. John Vianney | 2023 State NJ | 6’2” | G | Saint John Vianney
Winnik was a support player to Nate Williams(Gettysburg) last winter but will carry a bigger role this season. He’s a facilitator who can break down defenders and finish through contact and can also shoot it from beyond the arc. He’s a contender for a first team all division slot.
Isaac Hester Isaac Hester 6'0" | PG Ranney School | 2023 State NJ | 6’0 “ | G| Ranney
The top senior at the Shore this winter. Hester is a versatile guard who can break down defenders off the dribble and can also let it rip from beyond the arc. He’s also a facilitator and led the Panthers after losing so many transfers. A do it all guard who should see significant interest this winter. He had 20 vs Trenton Catholic in states as his top game as a junior.
Josh Michigan Josh Michigan 6'4" | SG Compass Prep | 2024 State NJ | 6’4” | G | Brick Memorial
Michigan is one of the top guards in Ocean County and will carry Brick Memorial on his shoulders as a senior. He had an excellent junior year and a solid summer. He’s got an ever expanding skillset, good shooting range and can use his strong frame to attack the basket. High basketball IQ and should contend for First Team All Shore this winter.
