#10 Jayden Barrs Jayden Barrs 6'2" | PG Manor | 2023 State TX 2023 6’2 Manor High School (ASAK 17U Elite)
Jayden is an explosive guard who has the ability to play off the ball, and on both sides of the ball. He is a very impressive athlete with how quickly he moves laterally, but also how he leaps toward the rim. When he does not have the ball, he is constantly in motion, and loves to catch his opponent sleeping with a well timed back cut. He is a high level slasher with a fantastic motor which wears on his opponents. With a live dribble he showed an ability to attack in the full court, and loves taking advantage of the fast break. I would like to see him work on his decision making in the half court to become a more combo guard type player. On the defensive side of things, he uses his motor to close out hard on his opponents and do all of the little things necessary to have a successful team. I was very impressed by his basketball IQ and how he baited opponents into lazy passes.
#9 Gunter Daniels Gunter Daniels 6'6" | SF Liberty Hill | 2023 State TX 2023 6’6 Liberty Hill High School (ATX Lockdown)
Highlights
Gunter is an athletic guard who really has made a big leap this summer, showing off his versatility and ability to handle the basketball. I loved his willingness to have an effect on the game off the ball, constantly moving and putting pressure on the defense. His athleticism and good foot speed allows him to constantly throw down backdoor dunks off of his opponent’s relaxed nature. He is a sharp shooter off the catch, and calmly knocks down shots from the corners and the wings. His ability to quickly get a shot up off a kick-out pass really stood out. He constantly punished the defense off of his ability to knock down shots from all three levels of the floor. He is great on the fast break, constantly out running his opponents to finish at the rim. I would like to see him get more aggressive with a live dribble and hunt for his shots in the midrange, especially after getting his opponent to blow by him with an up fake.
#8 David Alexander 2023 6’5 (Pflugerville) Hendrickson High School (ProSkills ATX Brown)
David is a natural slasher who is great at using his frame to bounce off defenders on his way to the rim. He never gets bumped off his path to the rim and is great at turning the corner on his opponents. His ability to explode out of the triple threat and get around his opponent was very impressive for his size. When he has his head set on finishing, he explodes in the paint finishing dunk after dunk within the half court and on the break. I was very impressed with how well he went coast to coast and the confidence he displayed with a live dribble. He is a strong wing prospect who has the ability to move laterally and should be able to naturally defend multiple positions. I would like to see him work on timing up steals and being a more disruptive force on the defensive end of the court. He has all the tools to become an effective two way player at the next level.
#7 Nazar Mahmoud Nazar Mahmoud 6'3" | SG Rouse | 2023 State #256 Nation TX 2023 6’6 Leander Rouse High School (Nike ProSkills EYBL)
Highlights
Nazar is an athletic wing who can really do it all on both ends of the court. The athletic wing loves to leak out on the fast break to throw down some emphatic dunks, but also has a smooth handle and crossover which allows him to get to his spots within the mid-range. I loved watching him spin off of a defender, into traffic and finishing a tough pull up fading away to his weak side. He is very comfortable with this motion, and while it is not the highest percentage shot, it allows him to fully attack the mid-range. He is fully capable of taking over his team’s offensive load, and can initiate offense if necessary as well. He has all the tools you would want to find in an athletic 2/3 guard. I would like to see him work on his creation for his teammates, and seeing the floor at a higher level. He is already great at getting to his spots and finding weak points in the defense, the next step will be putting his teammates in similar situations. Make sure you get out and see this kid before it is too late! He is a very silky smooth offensive killer!
#6 Dylon Richardson Dylon Richardson 6'2" | PG Hutto | 2023 TX 2023 6’3 Hutto High School (ASAK 17U Elite)
Dylon is an elite offensive weapon with the ability to affect the game at all three levels. He is a sniper when he gets an opportunity to set his feet. I was really impressed by his off-ball movement and how he always seemed to be ready to catch and shoot quickly. He knocked down shots from all around the arc and forced the defense to contest him hard. His ability to calmly create looks for himself at all three levels was incredibly elite. He showed an ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He finished with ease at the rim and showed off some impressive up and under through traffic. He is an explosive leaper who can throw down lobs to change the momentum of the game. He has a real connection with all of his teammates and uses his court vision to create looks for his teammates as well. He is not a selfish player, he is the ideal combo guard with how easy he scores the ball but also makes the extra pass in the full and half court to find an even better shot for a teammate. Where I have seen the most growth in him since the last time I saw him was his ability to affect the game on the defensive end of the court. He is an incredibly aware trapper who knows how to cut off angles to the passes and really put pressure on ball handlers over every inch of the court.
