Below is the twelfth installment in our Transfer Watch 2022 series. In this edition of the Transfer Watch, you will notice that with the start of the 2022-23 academic year just one week away, Pennsylvania powerhouse programs Scotland Campus and Phelps School continue to bolster their rosters.
Justin Janaski Justin Janaski 6'2" | CG Scotland Campus | 2023 State PA – 6’3” / Senior / Scotland Campus / Boo Williams / Combo Guard: This former Paul VI (VA) standout can drain jump shots from anywhere on the floor. Boggs (pic above) can create looks for himself or knock home catch and shoot jumpers. His range extends well beyond the arc. Combine those assets with a quick trigger and you have a prospect who is difficult to guard on the perimeter. Boggs owns shifty handles and elite downhill quickness so he can get to the tin where he will not hesitate to elevate and flush on an opponent’s head. Holds an offer from Radford.
Gavin Doty – 6’4” / Sophomore / Phelps School / NY Jayhawks / Wing: Simply put, Doty is an offensive playmaker. He distributes the rock well via drive and kicks or drop passes to waiting big men. From a scoring standpoint, Doty excels at using dribble drives to get points at the rim. He can also pull up off the dribble for mid-range jumpers or floaters. In 2021-22 the former Fulton HS (NY) standout posted games of 31 and 30 points as well as 29 points on two separate occasions. Last season Doty averaged 22 ppg.; 11.6 rpg.; 3 apg. and 3 spg. He was named to the All-CNY Team and was selected as the Salt City Athletic Conference – Empire Division POY.
Keyshawn Mitchell – 6’10” / Senior / Scotland Campus / NY Jayhawks / Wing: Mitchell is listed as a wing player, but at Capital Prep (CT) in 2021-22 he played in a point-forward role and dominated games. His handles, court vision, passing skills and willingness to move the ball make Mitchell as tremendous facilitator. Mitchell will score the ball from any spot on the floor too. Plus, he is a beast on the glass. In 2021-22 he posted a game of 26 points, 22 rebounds, and 6 assists. In another Mitchell grabbed a single game school record 35 rebounds (previous record was held by former 76er Andre Drummond). Did we mention Mitchell scored 36 points in that game as well? After last season Mitchell was a 1st Team All Capital Region Athletic League selection. Holds offers from UMass, VCU, Rhode Island, Albany, and St. Peters.
Onyx Nnani – 6’8” / Sophomore / Phelps School / UPlay Canada / Wing: Phelps adds another significant prospect from Canada in Nnani, who was a member of Canada’s 2022 U17 FIBA World Championship prelims roster. Nnani is a smooth, versatile, jack of all trades type of player. On the perimeter, Nnani can shoot the 3-ball, handle the rock some and is a willing distributor. He is also extremely comfortable playing on the interior. In transition he has the speed to fill the wing and the hops to finish with authority. Lastly, Nnani is an elite defender who can guard 1 through 4.
