Check out my analysis on the real GameChangers who I got to get a look at here in Dallas this weekend! These talented prospects shined every second they were on the court, and are really starting to turn heads with their play. Do not be surprised when you see these names pop up everywhere once the season starts to get rolling…
Xavier Green Xavier Green 5'11" | PG The Colony | 2026 State TX 2026 5’11 The Colony High School
Xavier is a high level guard who can score it in BUNCHES from all three levels of the floor. I was blown away with his prowess and how well he was able to get into his shot, even despite intense defense. He constantly got his shot off and really knocked down shots at a high level. He hit shots with a hand in his face, fading away, squaring up, out of the triple threat and putting the ball on the floor and pulling up. He was straight up dancing around some kids, and it was incredibly entertaining to watch. And yes some kids can knock down shots, but not like Green, he likely shot about 50-60% from beyond the arc during his time on the court. All of the coaches that I talked with this weekend were taking notes about this kid. He made the game look absolutely effortless, and was really on a different level compared to most of the kids in attendance.
Green sees the floor at a high level, and knows how to use minimal dribbles to get to his spot. I loved watching him scan the half court defense and then attack his matchup at the top and force a second defender to get involved. Truly seemed like everyone in attendance got a shot at guarding him, and no one was able to slow him down. Green is going to walk in to The Colony and will be making noise at the varsity level, do not forget this name!
Kingston Willis Kingston Willis 5'11" | PG Dallas Faith Family | 2026 TX 2026 5’10 Dallas Faith Family Academy
Kingston is an aggressive point guard who thrives at getting into the teeth of the defense and forcing his opposition to step up and make a decision. He lived at the free throw line due to his aggressiveness and willingness to fight through contact. However his aggressiveness is not even close to the best part of his game, he is a true point guard who has the ability to make wizardry level passes. He had multiple jaw dropping plays where he made a picture perfect kick out pass to set up a shooter in the corner. His passes always seemed to be in exactly the right spots to get his teammates a quick shot opportunity. I was very impressed with his vision and overall feel for the game, he seems to have all of the mental tools to be successful and he sees the floor at a very high level.
Trent Perry Trent Perry 6'4" | SF Frisco LoneStar | 2026 State TX 2026 6’4 Frisco Lone Star High School
Trent was incredible during his time on the court at the PrepHoops Texas Freshman Showcase. Perry looks to have all of the tools that a college coach could want at the next level. Not only does he have a great frame already, but he sees the floor like a point guard, and moves into space and forces the defense to react. He constantly manipulated the defense with his positioning and his handle, getting into the teeth of the paint and scoring at will at the rim. He is a natural finisher on the break, or if he has space to take a single step within the half court before rising up. He nearly put down two between the leg dunks on the fast break!
He is a smooth scorer who is not afraid to rise up in his defenders grill and punish him from beyond the arc. I was blown away with the touch he displayed from beyond the arc, both off the catch but more impressively off the bounce. His ability to constantly score from the wings or the top of the key allowed his team to get up big in just a few possessions. It seemed nearly everyone in attendance took a chance on guarding him, and he punished smaller guards down low and took bigger prospects off the bounce at will.
Defensively, he slid his feet and forced his opponents to change their angles to the basket, while also using his long arms to poke the ball free and run the other way. He baited his opponents into terrible passes by quickly exploding into the passing lanes and running the other way in transition. He is a natural rim protector using his size as well, constantly deflecting his opponent’s shots and chasing down kids who thought they had a free lane to the basket. Perry is a name you have to keep your eye on over the next few years. Everyone in the country will know his name sooner rather than later, believe that.
Dj Dorn Dj Dorn 5'9" | PG San Antonio Veterans Memorial | 2026 TX 2025 5’10 San Antonio Veterans Memorial High School
Highlights
DJ is a skilled point guard who thrives on his ability to turn the corner on his opponents and shift them with crossovers and behind the backs. His ability to play with pace and change speeds and directions was very impressive. He constantly got downhill and ruthlessly attacked his match-up off the bounce to get two feet into the paint. Once he did, he made crafty passes to his open teammates, making great dump offs to his big man after drawing the opposing big. Another great aspect to his game was how well he operated on the fast break, he made great lead passes to set up his teammates. His passes up the court were always picture perfect, even at the 3/4 court length!
