They racked up 22 wins this season and picked up some high-quality wins on the way to a Championship down at the Sanford Pentagon. ND Attack was loaded with athletes that play fast, get in for face on defense, and they can all hit the 3-ball. This squad has a nice mix of Class A and B players from North Dakota. A couple of the Class B players are All-Region ballers and are some of the best guards in the State. This team was led by Dan Glasser who is a great basketball mind and well respected coach in the state of North Dakota. These players improved over the course of the AAU season, and I expect them all to have a big year with their high school teams! Read below for a season review and player comments from ND Attack 16U Green.
Season Review with coach Dan Glasser
“After starting the season with 2 tough losses, we finished the year 22-10 and went 4-0 in our last tournament. We won the Sanford Pentagon Dakota Challenge with wins over Wisconsin Hoops Select-Richardson, Pentagon Schoolers Vincent, and the Southwest Stars. This team really learned throughout the season how to take advantage of their athleticism on both ends of the court. With great ball pressure, they were able to capitalize on turnovers. Every player on this team was capable of knocking down a 3-pointer. We were able to run the floor and find open teammates for good shots. Although we were outsized every game, this team’s toughness and determination really showed. We competed hard in every game. All the players improved throughout the season and will continue to play big roles for their teams next winter.”
Player comments from coach Dan Glasser
Braylon Baldwin Braylon Baldwin 5'11" | PG Grafton | 2024 State ND |5’10 G| Grafton
“A knock-down 3-point shooter who has the ability to get to the rim. Always has the ability to find an open teammate. He is also a great on-the-ball defender that is very difficult to get around.“
Carson Haerer Carson Haerer 6'0" | PG Bottineau | 2024 State ND |5’11 G| Bottineau
“A can-do-anything offensive type of player. Very good at penetrating to the rim and can get to the free throw line after drawing contact. He can hit a 3 from just about anywhere and when he gets hot it doesn’t matter how close the defender is on him. He has the ability to read passes on defense and with his quickness, Carson gets many steals by jumping the passing lanes.“
Carson Henke Carson Henke 5'11" | SG Bismarck | 2024 State ND |5’11 G| Bismarck
“There is not a player in any gym that works as hard as Carson. He reads the game very well and is a very consistent shooter from the outside. He has the ability to get down the floor and hit a 3 before the defense is even ready. His defense and rebounding ability makes him a great all-around player.“
Carter Henke Carter Henke 6'1" | SG Bismarck | 2024 ND |6’0 G| Bismarck
“Carter is a good outside shooter and has the ability to get into the middle of the lane and finish. He is also very good at finding the open shooter when he does penetrate and causes help on defense.“
Damon Glasser Damon Glasser 6'4" | SG Dickinson | 2024 State ND |6’3 G| Dickinson
“A great outside shooter with good range. His length often causes trouble on defense and is at his very best when he crashes the boards on both ends of the court. Over the course of the season, he improved on getting to the rim. If he continues to do that, he will be very tough to defend with his passing ability also.“
Jake Shobe Jake Shobe 6'1" | SG Dickinson Trinity | 2024 State ND |6’0 G| Dickinson Trinity
“Once Jake joined the team after his track season was over, the team really hit its stride. He brings a determination and does whatever it takes. He brings a tough attitude to the team. He’s a player that can do everything on both ends of the court. Jake doesn’t have one weakness in his hole game on both ends of the court.“
Preston Lemar Preston Lemar 6'3" | SG Bismarck | 2024 State ND |6’2 G| Bismarck
“An athlete that plays a lot bigger than his size. Even though he was outsized, he did an amazing job defensively on the other team’s big guys. He is always battling for rebounds and really stretches the defense out with his shooting ability.“
Ryan Hanson Ryan Hanson 5'11" | SG Grafton | 2024 ND |6’1 G| Grafton
“A terrific shooter that has the ability to hit the big shot. A very unselfish teammate that can read the game very well and always knows where the ball needs to go.“
Thomas Freer Thomas Freer 5'10" | SG Dickinson | 2024 ND |5’9 G| Dickinson
“A lockdown defender that will put it all on the line to make sure his guy doesn’t score. He also has the ability to hit the outside shot with consistency.“
Zach Sykora Zach Sykora 6'2" | SG Valley City | 2024 State ND |6’1 G| Valley City
“Zack is a very tough matchup for other teams. He has the ability to play down low, but is a great outside shooter and has great moves to get to the rim and finish in the lane. He is a solid defender and can guard anyone on the court, from guard to post.“
