People from all over the country have rallied behind those affected and has shined light at the perseverance these communities have as they look to rebuild what was lost. As the high school basketball season is the last thing on most peoples minds in these areas, we would like to highlight some uncommitted 2023’s from Eastern Kentucky that are poised for a big final year.
Brady Robinson (2023) | 6-3 SG | Betsy Lane
Robinson is the leading returning scorer for Betsy Lane after averaging 16.7 PPG and a team high 68 made 3pt field goals. He has a quick/smooth shot with deep 3pt range. Very active on both ends of the court with great instincts. Good athlete. Along with scoring does all of the little things. Gets hands in passing lanes and good rebounder for his size. Look for him to step in as the leader and lead Betsy Lane deep into the post season.
Ryan Rose Ryan Rose 6'8" | C Johnson Central | 2023 State KY (2023) | 6-8 PF/C | Johnson Central / Griffin Elite
Rose will be one of the best big men in the state. Has great awareness and feel around the rim capable using either hand in the post. Moves well for his size and can play above the rim in space especially in transition. Can step out to 3pt range – Went 7/18 from 3pt last season. I look for him to expand his game on the perimeter this season in pick and pop situations. Strong rebounder – Averaged 8.6 RPG last season. Does a great job of getting fouled and making free throws. Rose has a chance to be one of the top leaders in the state recording double doubles this season.
Braxton Stanley (2023) | 6-0 G | East Ridge High School
Stanley is a shifty veteran guard that is a solid leader for East Ridge. Makes great decisions sets the tone. Very active on the defensive end getting in passing lanes / deflections. At his best in transition in the open court. Good shooter who made 38 – 3pt makes last season averaging 10.8 PPG. Stanley will take on a bigger scoring role this season and could have a big year.
Jonathan Banks (2023) | 6-4 F | Belfry
Banks will take on a bigger role for Belfry this year after having a solid 2021-22 season averaging 6.5 PPG. High motor player that is a strong defender and rebounder. Will have more scoring opportunities this season. Capable from 3pt range. Expect him to average double figures. Will be a key returner for Belfry that they will rely on.
