AJ Clark AJ Clark 6'2" | SG Menchville | 2023 State VA | 6’3” SG | Menchville
Clark has made a big jump over the last year or so and showed great two way potential during his junior season at Menchville, then took it to another level this summer playing with Loaded 757 as their top threat on both ends of the floor. The 6’3” wing is a big time athlete who has good speed and moves well laterally, he is an explosive leaper who can play above the rim and blocks shots both coming help side and in chase down situations and he plays with terrific energy on both ends of the floor. He’s improved in his ability to create and make shots in the midrange area and he’s becoming a better shooter from deep, and if that clicks in college some school will get a big time steal in him.
Desmond Roberts Desmond Roberts 6'5" | SF St Anne’s Belfield | 2023 State VA | 6’5” SF | STAB
Roberts is the type of player that years ago would be getting recruited much more than he is now based off of his upside and the ability to develop him as he has phenomenal physical and athletic tools and has already shown quite a bit of development over the past few years. At 6’5” Roberts has great strength and a good frame that could continue to fill out, he runs the floor hard and can play well above the rim when he gets a head of steam going and he has improved in his ability to catch and shoot from deep and while he’s still streaky with work on the gun and a good shooting coach he has the ability to be a good 3 and d guy in a few years. He has shown flashes of a good motor and the ability to be a versatile and good defender who can make plays on that end as well.
Jordan Horne Jordan Horne 6'1" | PG Miller School | 2023 VA | 6’2” PG | Miller School
Horne is another type of guard that would have a handful of offers a few years ago before the transfer portal became so prevalent, and the fact that he’s a late bloomer in this type of recruiting environment has hurt a player like him. Horne is a strong guard who uses his strength to both keep ball handlers in front and protect the ball against defenders pressuring him, he gets downhill and touches the paint easily where he has the ability to play through contact or make plays for others off the bounce and he has a toughness and grit about him that makes others follow the way that he plays. He still has room to improve as a shooter and become more consistent, but he’s someone coaches should put their trust in that will continue to improve moving forward.
Sam Brannen | 5’11” PG | King’s Fork
Brannen is the type of guard that often gets overlooked because he may not pass the look test with his size and athleticism, but the fact is he’s as skilled as any guard you’ll come across and he continually produces against very good competition. Brannen is a very skilled scorer who shoots the ball exceptionally well from deep off the catch and off the bounce and has a great middle game with pull-ups and floaters, he is excellent in the pick-and-roll and makes great reads and is able to deliver passes of all sorts out of it and he has a great IQ on both ends of the floor. He’s the type of player who will be able to step in and understand systems and make a positive impact from day one.
Joe Baldwin Joe Baldwin 6'7" | SF Fairfax Christian | 2023 State VA | 6’6” WF | Fairfax Christian
Baldwin Jr. is a very intriguing prospect not only because of his physical and athletic tools at his position, but also because of the way he has improved over the past few years, the problem is not that many people know that much about him. At 6’6” he’s a true wing who can guard on the wing and is an excellent help side defender who blocks shots and rebounds, he gets out in transition and is able to get downhill and play way above the rim and he has improved in his ability to knock down shots to become a true 3 and d player at the next level. He has also improved in his ability to put it on the deck and create off the bounce as well.
