PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Mateo Jimenez Mateo Jimenez 5'10" | PG Edgewood | 2023 State WI
Jimenez was an honorable mention All-Badger West selection as a junior after averaging around nine points and a couple assists per game. A skilled and crafty lead guard, who can control as a game as a scorer or facilitator, Jimenez knows how to run a team and dictate the flow of the game.
BREAKOUT PLAYER: Casey Schoenecker Casey Schoenecker 6'5" | SF Oregon | 2023 State WI
Oregon lost its top two scorers from a season ago. Look for Schoenecker to emerge as the go-to player for the Panthers. As a junior, Schoenecker posted 10 points and six rebounds per game, while shooting 58.5 percent from the floor.
SURPRISE PLAYER: James Seagreaves
He wasn’t the focal point last season, but liked some of the things Seagreaves was able to provide in a reserve role. If Monroe is going to stay atop the conference, think the junior forward is going to have to have to take a few steps forward. An athletic combo forward, Seagreaves averaged three points and three rebounds per game as a sophomore.
