We’ll take a look at positional rankings, ranking the guards, wings and bigs.
Here’s a look at part one of the bigs rankings, ranking 21-14 of the power forwards and centers in the class of 2024.
21) Grant Polk Grant Polk 6'7" | PF St. Albans | 2025 State #378 Nation MD | 6’5” PF | Gainesville (#66 Overall)
Polk is quickly becoming one of the top stretch big men in Nova public schools, and he has improved a lot and should have a big junior season at Gainesville. He plays on a talented NOVA Cavs team and showed his ability to stretch the floor, make good passes to cutters both on the perimeter and in the post and his ability to guard multiple positions too.
20) Walker Conrad Walker Conrad 6'7" | PF Strasburg | 2024 State VA | 6’7” PF | Strasburg (#61 Overall)
Conrad is a new name from the western part of the state that could jump up this list as we see him more, as he’s very intriguing with his mix of size and the ability to shoot the basketball. He’s a big guy who can bang in the paint and be physical, he can step out and stretch the floor as a consistent jump shot maker and he can rebound and run the floor as well.
19) Elijah Washington Elijah Washington 6'7" | PF Lake Taylor | 2024 State VA | 6’7” PF | Lake Taylor (#59 Overall)
Washington is another guy who could shoot up this list as he’s a big time two sport athlete who also thrives on the football field and is one of the most versatile defenders in this class. He’s extremely long and bouncy and blocks shots like someone much taller than him, he can move his feet and stay in front of guards and wings, he’s a big time rebounder and on the offensive end he can slash and scores it well through traffic.
18) Gabriel Coulthurst Gabriel Coulthurst 6'6" | PF Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA | 6’6” PF | Independence (#55 Overall)
Coulthurst is another big time football player who gets it done on the basketball court with his mix of size and athleticism for someone as big as him. He’s a bowling ball when he gets downhill and can play through traffic very well, he can rebound and start the break with outlet passes and he brings a toughness on both ends of the floor as well as the ability to step out and make shots.
17) Terrance (TJ) Bethea Terrance (TJ) Bethea 6'4" | PF Potomac | 2024 State VA | 6’4” PF | Potomac (#54 Overall)
Bethea is a very intriguing prospect who seems to just be scratching the surface with how good he can be and could have a breakout junior season at Potomac. He’s a versatile forward who can guard multiple positions, he’s an excellent help side defender and gets a lot of deflections and blocks and he’s a good athlete who runs the floor and finish and is unselfish as a passer too.
16) Isaiah Vick Isaiah Vick 6'7" | PF Patriot | 2024 State VA | 6’6” PF | Patriot (#51 Overall)
Vick is another intriguing prospect that’s just scratching the surface with how good he can be, and he has a lot of tools that show a lot of upside moving forward. He’s long and a very good athlete who can move his feet and get up and down the floor, he can guard multiple positions and rebounds well on both ends and he has a budding skillset that includes the ability to put it on the floor and hit jumpers off the catch when he’s left open.
15) Sean Donovan Sean Donovan 6'7" | C W.T. Woodson | 2024 State VA | 6’7” PF | W.T. Woodson (#50 Overall)
Donovan is a player on the rise as he continues to grow both physically and with his game, and as he continues to develop he’ll be one of the top bigs in the Nova area. At 6’7” he has a great frame and is very strong to be able to bang in the post and is excellent as a screener and roller, he rebounds well in and out of his area and he can step out and space the floor with his shooting ability too.
14) Ed Harrison Ed Harrison 6'6" | PF Miller School | 2024 State VA | 6’6” PF | Miller School (#43 Overall)
Another stretch four that just continues to improve, Harrison is a big body forward who can punish in the paint but really excels on the perimeter. The lefty is a knock down shooter from deep with good range, he’s an excellent passer on the perimeter and he makes the hustle plays and as he continues to work on his body he should become more athletic as well.
