Emmett Lawton Scores 22 2nd Half Points as 17u 1848 Downs WOTN

Lawton has excelled every time I’ve watched him. It took him a little while to get going. He didn’t get a point until the final seconds of the opening half. Hitting a contested midrange shot to take a 25-23 halftime lead. But Lawton really took over the game in the 2nd half. Lawton opened the second half with another contested midrange shot. He followed it up with an assist and 3-pointer. Another step-back midrange jumper gave 1848 a double digit lead in the 2nd half. Wear Out The Net wouln’t fold, as they kept cutting the lead in the 2nd half. But Lawton kept showing out. He made two extremely acrobatic and-one finishes down low, and another layup through traffic put them ahead by 10 again with 4 mins to go. A 3-pointer the next minute seemed to put the game out of reach. Lawton scored an astounding 22 points in the 2nd half to give 1848 the win.

Purdue Commit Scores 30 for 17u INB

Myles Colvin was an absolute freak today for INB against EG10 17u. He hit shots all over the field, and never got cold. It was a tough battle, but Colvin’s efforts kept them in the game. They were down by double digits on numerous occasions. but he kept bringing INB back. He made two athletic finished at the rim late in the game to grab the attention of the crowd. Ended with 30 points in an 81-71 loss.

Tons to Like From [player_tooltip player_id=’1297034’ first=’Hudson’ last=’Horvath’] on 15u EG10

I love what I saw from [player_tooltip player_id=’1297034’ first=’Hudson’ last=’Horvath’] this morning on EG10. On Friday, Horvath scored 35 points on five 3-pointer’s to beat Powerhouse Sports. This morning, he was on fire again, as EG10 won a close game against Wisconsin Crusaders. Horvath’s super quick with the ball, and got a nice feel for the game around him. Exploded down the lane for a layup, and drained a long-ball early. He hit back to back 3’s in the 2nd half to tie and regain the lead. Horvath’s a high-IQ player who stays away from mental mistakes, and doesn’t seem to lose confidence. In the afternoon, EG10 beat down on Adidas’s Team Rose 66-31.

[player_tooltip player_id=’1418511’ first=’Drew’ last=’Daoust’], Keegan VanKauwenberg Shine For 15u Wisconsin Crusaders

Keegan VanKauwenberg has been a guy I’ve really liked watching lately for Wisconsin Crusaders. He swished two 3’s to begin the game, and hit an contested and-one from deep a short time later. In the final seconds, he read an inbound pass and picked it off, leading to an assist to Daoust in the final seconds. I saw him become much more of a distributor in the second half. He picked up two assists early on, and added several more at the end.

[player_tooltip player_id=’1418511’ first=’Drew’ last=’Daoust’] emerged on to the scene in this game. This was easily his best performance in any game I’ve covered. Daoust nailed two 3’s and displayed terrific hustle with a chase-down block in the opening minutes. He also showed off a euro-step finish in transition. Daoust’s midrange game was on-point with two contested jumpers in the first half. The pump-fake game was also super effective, allowing him to make more plays for himself and his teammates throughout the game. He showed so much promise and can be a pure bucket-getter. Daoust scored 18 points in a close loss to EG10.
