Here are a few players that need to be looked at as prospect that can play at the next level.
6’5 G Aiden Oliphant || Cottonwood High School || 2023 ||
Size, frame and game are the first things that come to mind when we see Aiden play. He has been getting buckets since he was a freshman at Cottonwood. Aiden is a Swiss Army Knife out there rebounding, passing the ball and scoring it as well. Plays excellent defense and is fundamentally sound. Would like to see those small schools go after him because he can help a team if they want to go big as he can play the 3 or he can help teams go small and he can play the 4. He is shooting the ball better from the perimeter and he can also get in the post and do damage.
6’0 PG Isaac Wolfe Isaac Wolfe 6'1" | PG Payson | 2023 State UT || Payson High School || 2023 ||
Isaac is a quality PG that can beat defenders off the dribble going left or right. He keeps it simple with straight-line drives but he is efficient. Nice little floater game to compliment some outstanding shooting. When he gets in the lane he is working and using his vision to find open players. In transition he does have speed and he gets that ball out early too. Nice small school prospect that deserves a few looks.
6’6 SF Sammie Ishimwe Sammie Ishimwe 6'6" | PF Layton Christian | 2023 State UT || Layton Christian Academy || 2023 ||
Big time player that will stock rise some more, I could see a lot of the local NJCAA schools try and nab this player as he is athletic and he has major slashing skills. Still raw but that just means that he has a high ceiling. When he makes a move out in the perimeter it doesn’t take too many dribbles for him to get in the paint/ He plays the lanes on the defensive end that allow him to get touches that lead to easy dunks the other way. Will be a big time piece in a run for another Championship at the State 4A level this coming year.
6’4 W Elijah Soward || Roy High School || 2023 ||
Elijah is a player that likely plays the 4 at the high school level or even the 5 but he is a stretch or hybrid type of player that can take his game to the post and to the perimeter. Solid 15-foot game and when he doesn’t hesitate he is money. Good motor and feel for the game as he crashes boards well and finishes around the rim. Good player for those small schools looking for size at the 3 that can also function as a post player.
6’2 G Peter Broadbent Peter Broadbent 6'2" | CG Skyline | 2023 State UT || Skyline High School || 2023 ||
Peter is a solid guard that can be a lead guard or an off guard and he has next level potential. Could really see that game translate to a D3 or an NAIA school. Peter has a good shot and he is not a ball stopper, he plays within the flow and makes some plays on the defensive end as well.
