But before we put the spring completely in the rearview mirror, let’s take a look at some recent off-the-court news involving top-ranked 2024s.
Though the group of ranked 2024s is still relatively small, there are a few sophomores who have made news lately.
First, at the top of the class list, Wichita Heights’ TJ Williams TJ Williams 6'5" | SG Wichita Heights | 2024 State #176 Nation KS announced in May that he will attend Sunrise Academy in Wichita next year. Williams is already posting college offers on his Twitter account.

Tanner Heckel Tanner Heckel 6'0" | CG Lyndon | 2024 State KS , Inman, ranked #13 in the class of 2024:
The multi-sport star from Inman took 2nd in the 2A long jump with a leap of 21-04.
Peyton Ryan Peyton Ryan 5'9" | CG Central Plains | 2024 State KS , Central Plains, ranked #21 in the class of 2024:
Ryan put together a stellar 33-1 record on the tennis court. The sophomore’s only loss came in the state 3-1A singles championship.
Landon McPhail Landon McPhail 5'11" | CG Ashland | 2024 State KS , Ashland, ranked #37 in the class of 2024:
The combo guard is no sub-par shooter on the basketball court. But on the links it’s a different story. McPhail earned second-team in 1A golf.
