Here’s our rundown of standouts on Sunday. Prep Hoop NorCal makes every effort to see as many NorCal prospects as we can. There’s been no shortage of high school hoops this Spring in NorCal, and heading into the Summer.
Kellen Hampton Kellen Hampton 6'7" | SF Southern California Academy | 2025 #120 Nation CA-S 6’7 2025 W of Moreau Catholic
He’s looks poised and ready to take the next step in his rise as a top 2025 prospect, not only in NorCal, but California. Hampton showed himself to be a versatile player that can play positions 1 thru 5 if called to do so. He’s stronger and bigger, and moves well. His ability to handle the ball, create for himself and others was on display. Top players make the shots they take. Hampton did that long, and short at this event. We’ll see more of him.
Ebo Watson 6’10 2024 Center of Salesian College Prep.
There’s no questioning the fact that Watson is raw and is relatively new to the game. He’s a solid 6’10 body that can help this team defend in the post during various stretches of a game. He had good movement towards the rim for offensive rebounds. He’s a big target in the post, he showed a jump hook, there were a few instances where he couldn’t be denied from taking it up strong in the paint. Continued skill work is needed. We’ll watch him.
Robert Morgan Robert Morgan 6'4" | SF Moreau Catholic | 2023 State CA-N II 6’5 2023 W of Moreau Catholic
He’s made improvements across the board, he’s playing with confidence, and an improved set of offensive skills that makes him a good all-around prospect. His improved handling helps him attack the basket strong in half-court or in transition. He knocked down the open 3 in the corner. He’s a good athlete that’s underrated as a defender, and a rebounder.
Zion Wilburn Zion Wilburn 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ 6’7 2024 W/F of Pinole Valley
The lengthy Wilburn continues his rise as a next level prospect from NorCal. At 6’7 he shows that he can operate sufficiently as a wing player on the perimeter, and in transition. He hit 3’s in rhythm, in transition, off the dribble, and spotting up. His size along with decent handles and passing skills allows him to be a facilitator who works from the top, he gets to his spots for jumpers, or into the paint.
AJ Harris AJ Harris 6'5" | SF Piedmont | 2023 State CA-N 6’5 2023 G/F Piedmont
Harris has emerged as one of the most productive prospects in NorCal this Spring and heading into the Summer. 4 weeks ago he put up 50 pts against a solid defensive team that doubled teamed, and played physical against him. He has the strength, and size to get points in the paint. He continues to be a point producer for his team. He has deep range, knocking down 4 or more 3ptrs per game. He handles the double team with good vision and passing.
