There are plenty of college coaches in attendance, and some of these kids in attendance have a real chance to turn some attention their way.
Steven Ramirez 2025 6’4 Keller High School (Lee Green Basketball)
Steven is a high level wing that can truly get it done across all three levels. He has a smooth jump shot, that he can get to off the bounce but is a knock down shooter when given time to set his feet. In the game I was watching, he hit 3 threes to bring his team back into it, including the game winner as time expired. In this same game, he showed off his ability to get to the rim with a live dribble, routinely finishing in the paint as well. He is a shifty player when trying to wiggle and get downhill, but also knows how to use his size and frame to bump his opponents off their spots. Steven is great at taking what the defense gives him and finishing above smaller defenders. He is great at using his size to his advantage and quickly taking on smaller opponents before the help comes. Ramirez has all of the tools to develop into a high level wing prospect, especially if he continues to grow another inch or two. I would like to see him continue to develop his play-making and distribution.
Tylan Reed 2023 6’6 Cedar Hill High School (Gators Elite 2023)
Tylan is a high level wing prospect who showed an ability to stretch the floor and attack the rim with a live dribble. He has a smooth stroke on his jumper, with a very high release allowing him to shoot over anyone. He is a high percentage shooter when given time to set his feet and space the floor, but is not afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack a hard closeout. He really shined as a screener, creating opportunities for his teammates through the space he made but also rolled hard to the basket for easy looks in the paint. Reed has an incredibly impressive frame, built like a line backer, with good agility for his size. He moved his feet very well defensively, guarding the perimeter and also exploding to protect the rim. I would like to see him continue to develop his play-making ability and improving his handle in the open court.
Josiah Hill Josiah Hill 6'9" | C Irving MacArthur | 2023 State TX 2023 6’9 MacArthur High School (AJ1)
Josiah is a hard working forward prospect who gets it done on both ends of the court, collecting rebounds and using his length to stay vertical to not only affect shots defensively, but quickly score as well. He is very good defensively, moving his feet to stay in front of his opponent but also sliding over at the right time to protect the rim. His ability to affect shots as a help defender made a real difference for his team. Opponents thought twice about driving to the lane and challenging him after getting bumped round the first few times. On the offensive side of things, he seems to have a real nose for offensive rebounds and got a few easy second chance points before his feet hit the floor. He is a strong finisher who knows how to use his length to keep the ball out of his opponents reach. I would like to see Hill work on his decision making in the open court.
Tim Okojie 2023 7’0 Spring Creek Academy, TX (Athletic Elite 2023)
Tim is a massive force on the interior with his tremendous size and ability to protect the paint and clear the glass. He is great at turning away shots in the paint, from behind or as the defender is coming at him. He has good defensive instincts and knows how to high point the ball on his opponents release. He came up with multiple chase down blocks with his non stop motor. He moves very well for his size, and showed an ability to run the floor and finish, much like how Clint Capela does in the NBA. He is an aggressive player on the fast break who understands the importance of keeping the ball high and out of his defenders reach, He is a force as he is coming down the lane, even as the trailer option and can catch the defense off guard by flying down the lane. Okojie has grown tremendously as a player from the last time I saw him less than 2 months ago. If he continues to develop his overall feel for the game and his basketball IQ at this rate he is going to show rapid development.
Evan Chatman Evan Chatman 6'8" | SF Harker Heights | 2023 State TX 2023 6’7 Harker Heights High School (ATX Lockdown 17U)
Evan is a high level wing/ undersized forward prospect with his ability to handle the ball and shoot off the bounce, but also naturally dominate the game on the interior. I was very impressed with his confidence in his shot making off the dribble from anywhere on the court. He knew he could shoot over the top of anyone whenever he gets to his spots on the floor. He can play out of the high post and run the dribble hand-off, he sets good hard screens to free up his lead guards. He is also not afraid to go coast to coast and attack the rim whenever he has an advantage. He is also a high level rebounder who routinely uses his athleticism to jump multiple times to end the possession. He routinely made the right outlet pass to set up his teammates after defensive rebounds.
