At Inspire Courts there were some prospects and top-tier talent, and I am going to give some of these athletes the recognition they deserve. Here is your Brawl for the Ball 17U All-Tournament First Team.
Will Heimbrodt – SF – 6’7” – 2023 Sc Academy (Team Rampage Elite)
The 6’7” forward was the best player in the gym. Will does this with effortless flow of the game taking every possession individually. He does a fantastic job of never forcing anything and has an understanding of when to make a play and when to give it up for an open shot. With his great build, he brings intensity on the defensive end as well as locking up his opponents, and the occasional sky-high block. On the offensive side, he scores with ease in every way imaginable.
Maper Maker – C – 6’10” – 2025 Dream City Christian (AZ Unity EYBL 2024)
He has a very similar build and length to his cousin, Thon Maker. The 6’10” Center has a lot of promise as he only just finished his freshman year of high school. He has a lot to learn on the offensive end but thrives on the other end of the court. I am unsure if I have ever seen a high school player dominate on that end of the court like he did this past weekend. Watch out for his offensive game to improve and this kid will end up in the NBA just like his cousin.
Zander Kamai Zander Kamai 6'3" | CG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2024 State AZ – PG – 6’2” – 2023 Paradise Honors (Arizona Firestorm)
The Arizona Firestorm point guard definitely caught me by surprise. I had the chance to see his team play a couple of times and he played well in all of them. But, the first game stood out the most. The way Zander controls the game is immaculate. He lets the game come to him and always comes alive in the second half after letting his team get a feel for the game first. This lefty stud can score with anyone on him and if you are defending, get ready to be embarrassed.
Cameron Holmes Cameron Holmes 6'5" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ – SG – 6’5” – 2026 Millennium (AZ Unity EYBL 2024)
Part of the most talented team in the gym, Cameron was able to stand out despite his talented teammates, and his age. He hasn’t even made it to high school yet he is one of the best prospects. His length and size were unmatched against his competition as I legitimately saw him guard 1-5. The lefty also set himself apart with his relentlessness in transition finishing and creating for his team as the temporary point guard even at some points. He has all the tools for success on both sides of the floor so be aware of Cameron over the next couple of years.
Erenzo Scroggins Erenzo Scroggins 6'4" | SF AZ Compass Prep Black | 2023 State AZ – PG/SG – 6’4” – 2023 AZ Compass Prep (Team Rondae Hollis-Jefferson)
Despite his size (still a strong point guard), Erenzo was the best slasher and finisher in the building. This was due to his freakish athleticism and very strong build. He does an excellent job of playing to his strong suits on both ends. With that, he knows when to attack and when to keep the defense honest with a jumper. Using his body, he takes over every matchup when playing defense, even against the bigger players. He is one of the smartest players that I have watched and he will always do what is best for his team.
