This Arena basketball squad is having a great spring. They have a good mix of size, length, and athleticism. In the Buckets in the Big Red tournament, they went 4-0 with solid wins and came out in second place. Everyone on this team is looking to make a big jump and improve for their senior season.
Sam was excellent this tournament getting his game off. He has a tight handle and quick burst of speed making it trouble for defenders staying in front of him. On offense, he takes his time and gets to his spots when he wants. Has the ability to get in the lane and come to a floater or drop it off to a teammate for an easy bucket. Can knock down threes at a high level.
Dylon Schaap Schaap is an excellent three and D player. His length makes it impossible to shoot over and rebounding easy on both ends of the floor. His jump shot has a nice release point making it hard for anyone to contest his shot. He defends at a high level on and off the ball. His length and height help him rim protect and block shots.
Jaxon Hennies Jaxon had a huge weekend offensively down in Lincoln! He was shooting the three at a high level and getting to the rim and finishing with ease. Hennies can run the point guard or the shooting guard. He sees the court well and has no problem making the extra pass.
Sam Faldmo Sam is excellent at playing his role and taking what comes to him. He can knock down shots in the corner or put the ball on the deck and finish at the rim. When he gets to the rim he is really crafty finishing with both hands. He is an active defender who works hard off the ball, and also rebounds on both ends of the floor!
Kuehl was excellent this tournament running the lead guard. His game offensively has no flaws, he can easily score at all three levels. When he gets in the paint, he’s crafty finishing with both hands. He has a nice ability to split the defense and get to his spots with ease. Look for his stock to continue to rise.
Lamarion is a solid defender with elite athleticism who can guard 1-5. He was a little off shooting the ball this weekend but found many other ways to impact the games. He does have a nice jump shot with a smooth release, often knocking down shots. His length and speed give him the ability to get in the paint and give the defense trouble. He can play down on the block or as an off-ball guard. A lot of upside in his game.
Makiah McGill McGill’s athleticism is what stands out the most when I watch him. He is always outjumping bigs and guards for rebounds. In transition, it is hard for defenders to stay in front of him with his speed. When he gets into the paint he finishes well and can stop and knock down the mid-range if needed.
