Camden Stewart Camden Stewart 5'10" | PG Southmoore | 2023 OK 2023 5’11 Soutmoore High School, OK (Oklahoma Swarm Elite 2023)
Camden is an aware point guard who can make any pass on the court, which is impressive but just as impressive when you see him do it with his off hand. He made great passes in the full court that hit his teammates in stride. His ability to jump start fast breaks made his team really capitalize on turnovers and long rebounds. I was blown away with his ability to create in mid air, he made impressive passes after he had already left his feet and drawing a second defender. When he got past his opponent and drew the defense’s attention he always found the right dump off passes to his big for easy looks. He has the ability to score in the paint either at the rim, or by using his soft floater to get his shot softly over his opponent. I would like to see him work on his shot off the bounce from the mid-range and beyond the arc.
Joshua Hollis 2023 5’11 Good Vision Academy, TX (Just Play Elite 2023)
Joshua is a high level slasher at the point guard position, who posses a strong frame and got deep into the teeth of the defense with ease. He routinely got around his opponent and into the lane, and when he got two feet in, good things happened for his team. His ability to create looks for his teammates really stood out, and he displayed true point guard instincts. His aggressiveness allowed him to live at the free throw line and subsequently the paint with his ability to turn the corner on anyone.
AJ Stephens 2023 6’0 MacArthur High School, TX (Texas Footwork Bengals 2023)
AJ is a skilled two way point guard who has a real ability to lock up the best player on the court with his ability to move his feet and keep his defender in front of him. I was not surprised to learn he was a dual sport athlete, playing cornerback for his varsity team for the last two years. He is an impressive player with his ability to facilitate but also take away high level guards. He was great at using his length to harass ball handlers and poke the ball free, coming up with a few steals in the times that I saw him play. He always has his head up to make the right reads both in the full court but also within a half court set.
Khari “KJ” Sykes 2023 5’8 Clinton Christian Academy, MS (Mamba Wolfpack 2023)
KJ is a skilled and confident ball handler who gets past his opponent with ease and creates massive amounts of space with his handle. He has quick crossovers that always seem to put the defense on its heels. I was most impressed with his patience with the ball and his ability to control the tempo of the game, both in the full court and the half court. He is a calm and natural scorer off the bounce, and naturally rises up above his defender with ease. He is a very impressive scorer across all three levels of the floor, which makes him a valuable weapon on the court.
