Marlboro Senior Jack Seidler Jack Seidler 6'5" | SF Marlboro | 2022 State NJ has committed to UCLA as a Preferred Walk On. Seidler, quite possibly the most under-offered senior in the entire state, had an offer from Drake but elected to head to sunny SoCal to play for the legendary Bruins program. He finished his time in high school with a magnificent senior year, leading Marlboro to the Shore Conference Title and the State Group IV final, where the battled Elizabeth in a tight game.
Seidler was dominant down the shore, blasting past 20 on the regular. His play in the state tournament was lights out and he dropped 22 on Trenton, 24 on Lenape and 19 on Elizabeth, cementing his status as the top senior down the Shore Conference. He played with Team Final in the spring AAU circuit where he continued to impress. The 6’5″ guard is a lethal shooter and went off from deep at an EYBL event, going 11-14 from deep–One that UCLA head man Mick Cronin happened to be at. PWOs don’t often see major minutes for Cronin, but for a team desperately in need of a guy who can light it up from deep, Seidler has the opportunity to battle for meaningful minutes straight away.
St. Thomas Aquinas lead guard Samar Abdullah Samar Abdullah 5'11" | PG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State NJ has announced his commitment to Montclair State University. Abdullah was a four year varsity player for the Trojans and was one of the leaders on their 27-2 team that won the GMC this past winter.
Abdullah recently played AAU with Sandy Pyonin’s NJ Roadrunners at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest.
Here’s the take on Abdullah from that event:
Abdullah was one of a handful of seniors playing 17U with the Roadrunners. He’s a very good shooter and was the floor general for the Roadrunners. He’s a good ball handler and is tough on defense. He dished out almost 100 assists and had several big games as a senior. He’s one of the top available players in the NJ Class of 2022.
