Hustle in the Sun 15U Top Shooters

Over Mother's Day weekend, Momentous Sports Center in Irvine, CA played host to the PH Circuit's Hustle in the Sun. Held over two days(Saturday 5/7 and Sunday 5/8), the event featured a lot of up and coming talent. I was at the event both days and I focused on watching the 15U division. Here's a look at some of the top shooters I saw. <strong>1. Kaidan Smith-Simmons - Coastal Elite 2025</strong> Smith-Simmons stood out as a good shooter from the corners. He moves very well without the ball to free himself up for the pass. He spots up well and is a good catch and shoot player. He's got a quick release on his shot and can get his shot off before the defense is able to close out. If the defense does close out and run him off the line, he is able to put the ball on the floor and make a play. <strong>2. Elyas Elegado - IE Fire Elite 2025</strong> IE Fire has a lot of talented players and Elegado is certainly one of them. He can do a few different things but is a standout shooter from distance. Does a good job passing the ball and then relocating to the the arc. He squares up well; is a good catch and shoot player with a quick release. He can drive to the rim, dump off a pass, then curl back out to the arc using off ball screens. Able to spot up from both corners. Good free-throw shooter. <strong>3. Austin Seeman - Coastal Elite 2025</strong> Seeman displayed very good off-ball movement both as a shooter and as a cutter. Good corner spot up with quick release. He's a long forward who can space the floor in small ball lineups. If defenders close out on him at the three-point line, he can dribble in a take a closer jumper. Most of his points all come from off-ball movement. Can draw fouls off cuts and get to the free-throw line. Fights hard for rebounds despite size. <strong>4. [player_tooltip player_id='1661881' first='Tayt' last='Lucas'] - AZ Gremlins 1 2025</strong> Lucas stood out as the prototypical 3&amp;D player. Good three-point shooter who squares up well with a quick release and is able to shoot with defenders rushing at him. Shoots consistently well from the arcs. He can also shoot pull-up threes in transition. Defensively, he is solid on ball. He uses his arms and feet well to keep up with the ball handler. Communicates well defensively too.
