Trevis Black 2024 6’4 Foster High School, TX (CyFair Elite HTX 2023)
Trevis is an athletic wing who has the ability to quickly change directions and keep his opponents off balance with his handle. He is a very impressive player in the full court where he routinely got around his opponent with not only his handle but his creative spin moves and euro steps to evade a second defender. I was very impressed with the agility he displayed in the full court and the ease in which he got to the basket. He showed an ability to catch and shoot from the corners and the wings with ease. He has a natural ability to score by simply rising up above his opponent. I would like to see him work on his consistency in the paint and his awareness getting around his opponent down low. He could be a bit more patient with his back to the basket, he can score over most opponents with ease but can work on converting more in the post.
Koreyan Davis Koreyan Davis 6'6" | SF North Crowley | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 North Crowley High School, TX (Tarrant Elite 2024)
Koreyan is a high level wing who has the ability to play small ball center if necessary or attack off the bounce with his size and prowess with a live dribble. I was very impressed with his ability to score from all three levels of the floor. He is a confident shooter out of the corners, and uses the triple threat well to create space within the half court. The reason he is a dominant player is his ability to play on the defensive end of the floor, he has active hands and uses all of his athletic ability to wreak havoc on defense. Whether he was poking the ball free from his opponents or rejecting shots in the paint, Davis always had his hands involved in the play. I loved his ability to go coast to coast after forcing a turnover or block!
Jamir Major 2024 6’2 Manvel High School, TX (Next Level Elite 2024)
Jamir is a ferocious player as he works to get downhill and really thrives off his ability to create separation in both the half court and the full court. In the open floor, he uses his end to end speed with a live dribble to beat his opponents down the court. He has a lightning quick crossover which allows him to create space within the half court and rise above his defender from any of the three levels of the floor. He is a confident shooter off the bounce who always seems to take what the defense gives him, and willingly lives in the midrange. I was very impressed with his ability to finish at the rim, and change his shot angle when necessary to avoid defenders. He is not just a scorer at the guard position however, he is a smart playmaker who always finds the open man on the fast break. On the defensive end of the floor, he is an aware player who often comes up with steals with his active hands and intense on ball defense. He is great at using his speed to his advantage after forcing a turnover and blowing past his opponent as he goes coast to coast.
Dapriya Briggs 2024 6’6 Ridgepoint High School, TX (Next Level Elite 2024)
Dapriya is a consistent big/wing player who can play across all three levels of the floor on both ends of the court. He is great down low, but has quick feet that allows him to defend players on the perimeter. He is a very aware defensive player, who willingly boxes out an opponent every time a shot goes up. He knows how to end defensive possessions by snatching a rebound. I was very impressed by his ability to play down low, but also pick apart the defense with his passes up the court. He consistently made the right outlet passes after snatching defensive rebounds. He made two picture perfect 3/4 court passes that hit his teammates in stride as the streaked down the court for easy fast break opportunities.
Chris Catchings Chris Catchings 6'6" | SF Fort Bend Marshall | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Fort Bend Marshall High School, TX (TJ Ford Basketball 2023)
Chris is an incredibly refined wing player with the ease in which he scores off the bounce from all three levels of the floor. He is a great shot maker, even fading away and coming off the dribble. Catchings makes his mark with his ability to explode with a live dribble, and then finish through anyone who stands in front of him. He contorts his body well to avoid contact, and loves using his long arms to finish around his opponents. I was very impressed with the speed in which he displayed after coming out of the triple threat, and it really caught his opponents by surprise. On the defensive side of the ball, he has incredible instincts and knows when to attack a ball handler with a trap, or rotate over to catch a cross court pass and run on the fast break. TJ Ford Academy is clearly pumping high level basketball training into his mind and it looks like it is paying off at the highest level. He has all the tools to become an incredibly affective Division 1 wing player or even play at the combo guard spot with his ability to handle the ball, score off the dribble and get past his defenders in both the full court and the half court. Catchings is a prospect you CANNOT miss out on.
Alantheon Winn 2024 6’5 Little Cypress Mauriceville High School, TX (TJ Ford Basketball 2023)
Alantheon was a man amongst boys during his time on the court at the Space City Collision, using his length and athleticism to wreak havoc on both ends of the court. He is an incredibly strong finisher in the paint, and has all of the athleticism to get him into the teeth of the defense every time down the court. The consistency that he showed in the paint was elite, as he displayed impressive layups with either hand and contorted his body in the air to avoid contact. He is not just a slasher, he showed an ability to knock down shots off the catch from the wings and corners. The attention that he draws allows him to be a smart playmaker, and make all of the right reads. I was most impressed by his overall on court intelligence he displayed on both ends of the floor. You can tell he is really thinking the game at a very high level, and mistakes he makes once normally do not happen again. He has a very impressive leaping ability that allows him to play down low whenever is necessary on the defensive end, and is a good help side defender. He knows when to slide over to help a teammate who got beat off the bounce, and has quick feet to go defend the pass to the perimeter.
