AaShon Holmes AaShon Holmes 6'1" | PG San Antonio Harlan | 2023 State TX 2023 6’1 San Antonio Harlan High School, TX (San Antonio King Hoops 2023)
Aashon is a complete three level scorer who is a real threat every time he comes into the half court. I was blown away by his shot making ability off the bounce, and he dazzled and danced around his defenders with a live dribble. His creative handle allows him to get anywhere he wants on the court. He can control the tempo of the game like a point guard and is great at changing his speed to keep his defenders off balance. He lives in the paint off of his ability to get around defenders, and is a very consistent finisher in the paint. He knows how to use every inch of the floor to his advantage, he is aware and knows which dribble moves he can use to create space on the baseline or the sideline. He was a show every time he finished on the break as well, he is a beast going coast to coast! Holmes is a real threat to score and manipulate the defense in whatever way he wants.
Zach Piatt 2023 6’1 Johnson High School, TX (Nike ProSkills SA 17U Red)
Zach is a high level shooter off the catch who specializes in his ability to space the floor and consistently be a shot making option from the perimeter. I was very impressed by his ability to turn the corner with a live dribble as well, he routinely showed an ability to get into the paint and finish over taller defenders. He has a nice floater that he uses at a very high level. He is great at playing off the ball and cutting behind a sleeping defender or moving to spot up in the corners and wings. He is not just an off ball player, he is a very smart and aware passer that always makes the right reads when he is getting downhill and drawing a second defender. I was very impressed by his calmness with a live dribble and his ability to make all of the right reads every time down.
Terrance Thompson 2023 5’11 Summer Creek High School, TX (North Houston Hustle 2023 National)
Terrance is a natural scorer across all three levels but really makes his mark on his ability to finish at the rim and over taller defenders. I was very impressed by the ease in which he consistently scored in the paint. He is an explosive player, both out of the triple threat and when attacking the basket to leap over the defense. I loved watching him turn the corner on seemingly anyone who was put in front of him, and he did so by manipulating his speed and his dribble moves. He is so quick in both the half and full court, and uses his end to end speed to create separation with any defender. He can even facilitate and create shot opportunities for his teammates by putting accurate passes right in his teammates shooting pockets. He showed an ability to catch and shoot on the perimeter when necessary as well.
Fred Lamar 2023 6’2 San Antonio Holmes High School, TX (San Antonio King Hoops 2023)
Fred is an aggressive finisher in the paint whose aggressiveness bleeds through into all aspects of his game. He is a high level rebounder at the guard position who loves to run the fast break and push the tempo after grabbing defensive rebounds. I loved his end to end speed and how he relentlessly attacked in the full court every time he touched the ball. He is a smart facilitator in the open court who always has his head up to make the right extra pass to set up his teammates. His lead passes have just the right touch on them to hit his teammates in stride. I would like to see him get more consistent with his shot off the bounce, and scoring in the midrange and beyond the arc.
