This past weekend’s event had great scoring performances and featured a lot of highlight reels.
But, let’s not forget about the players who changed the game on the court.
Here are 5 game-changing players from the weekend.
Carlos Rodriguez, Alpha & Omega 2025: Rodriguez was one of the glue guys over the weekend for his team. On Saturday against the C&S Hoopstars 2025, the 5-foot-8 guard recorded three steals and knocked down two 3s in less than two minutes. Rodriguez went after loose balls, and moved his feet well when he was guarding on the perimeter. He was all over the floor. Rodriguez was the perfect hustler for his team.
Caleb Smith, Buckner Elite Basketball Club 2025: The 6-1 guard was one of the more physical guards on the floor last weekend. Smith has a football-type frame, so it’s hard to move him. Against Run as One 2025, Smith had 11 points in the 68-28 win. His points were key, but energy was even more important. Smith plays with a motor. He brought energy on both ends of the floor. Smith plays with a tough, grimy edge. The soon-to-be sophomore didn’t lack effort and intensity over the weekend.
Haven Terry, Life Changers 2025: Terry has potential to be a solid all-around guard in this class. Offensively, he can push the basketball in transition, make shots from the perimeter, and knows how to finish at the rim. Defensively, he can be disruptive. Terry is another high energy prospect that doesn’t have an ounce of quit in him.
Brady Broussard, G4WYW 2025: Broussard was key in his team’s 49-39 win over Life Changers 2025. He was making the right reads, communicating on the defensive end, getting key rebounds, and most importantly, he was self-aware of each ball screen he was involved in. Broussard didn’t have bad turnovers. He simply helped his team win. Broussard carried a winning attitude over the weekend.
Trey Youngs, Clarksville Crossovers 2025: Young was a pivotal piece in his team’s 62-54 win over Kings Basketball 323 2025. The 5-10 guard made 3 3s in the second half. Youngs has a nice shooting touch, and elevates high enough off the floor each time he rises up. In this win, Youngs took quality shots, which is an attribute a program wants a guard to have, and he has it.
