A number of these players are still playing AAU basketball to showcase themselves during the two live periods in the month of April. Here’s a look at the top point guards in the state that are still available to sign.
Owen Caudle Owen Caudle 6'0" | PG Sherwood | 2022 State OR (2022 Sherwood) – Ranked #20
Caudle was Pacific Conference Player of the Year after helping Sherwood win the league title while averaging 18.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals. At 6-foot-1, he excels at getting to the hoop and scoring around bigger players or getting to the line and converting but can also hit the open perimeter jumper. Solid student academically.
Leo Sewell Leo Sewell 5'9" | PG Wilson | 2022 State OR (2022 Wells) – Ranked #22
Sewell was a four-year starter at Wells at point guard and has been one of the top assist leaders the past three seasons, leading 6A as a sophomore. As a senior the 5-foot-9 guard averaged 13.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.4 steals. He took on more of a scoring role as a senior, playing more off the ball and is a capable outside shooter with range.
Trevon Hamilton Trevon Hamilton 6'2" | PG Beaverton | 2022 State OR (2022 Beaverton) – Ranked #23
Hamilton was Metro League Player of the Year after helping Beaverton reach the state tournament while averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.5 steals. A pure pass-first point guard with size at 6-foot-2, he is constantly looking for the open man in the halfcourt or in transition but has improved his ability to score himself. He’s a lockdown defender who can really create turnovers with his quick hands.
Connor Hills Connor Hills 5'6" | PG Barlow | 2022 State OR (2022 Barlow) – Ranked #30
Hills stepped away from the team about two-thirds of the year at Barlow for personal reasons, but is healthy again both mentally and physically and looking for a college opportunity. At 5-foot-7 he may lack some size but more than makes up for it with his smarts and feel for the game, much of it he learned from his father who’s the all-time leading scorer in Corban history. Hills can shoot, score, and pass and really works hard on the defensive end.
Josiah Collins Josiah Collins 6'0" | PG David Douglas | 2022 State OR (2022 David Douglas) – Ranked #44
Collins was a First Team All-Mount Hood Conference selection after averaging 14.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals. At 5-foot-11, he has a college-ready physique and simply overpowers defenders getting to the basket and finishing. He plays with a very high motor on the defensive end and can really push the ball on the break.
