With the first live recruiting period of the spring, college coaches from all across the country will descend on Indiana’s capital city to watch the many top prospects participating. Many of those prospects will be at the Indianapolis Convention Center downtown for Prep Hoops’ event, The Stage. As we begin to preview the weekend let’s take a look at five prospects that may have flown under-the-radar that could breakout this weekend.
Thomas Collins Thomas Collins 6'1" | SG Culver Academy | 2023 State IN (Culver Academy 2023/Team GRIII 2023 Black): One of the underrated shooters in a very deep Class of 2023 in northern Indiana, Collins can get hot in a hurry from beyond the arc. His perimeter skill will be on full display this weekend for Team GRIII 2023 Black.
Robert Davidson Robert Davidson 6'4" | SF Bishop Chatard | 2023 State IN (Bishop Chatard 2023/JH1 IndyElite 2023): Davidson was impressive in stretches down at the Grit Region Kick-Off showing off his size on the wing at 6’4″ and athletic ability. He is a good straight line driver and dangerous in transition. Can finish above the rim.
Jackson Price Jackson Price 6'2" | SG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State IN (Mishawaka Marian H.S. 2023/5Star 2023): On a high school team loaded with shooters, the 6’2″ shooting guard was second with 37 makes at a 44% clip. Price has a quick release and has good footwork beyond the arc. Excellent catch-and-shoot ability.
Jacob Spauling/Silas Spauling (Eastern Hancock H.S. 2023/Indiana Faith 2023): The Spauling twins are both very skilled guards that can score the ball from all three levels. They are above-average passers as well which makes each of them even more dangerous with the ball in their hands. Small college coaches should get eyes on these two for Indiana Faith.
Taysire Williams Taysire Williams 6'5" | PF Jimtown | 2023 IN (Jimtown H.S. 2023/Indiana Attack Basketball Club 2023): Williams is a forward that is flying under-the-radar up in the northern part of the state. A 6’6″ physical presence inside, he can rebound his area and defend the interior. Continues to improve as a back to the basket scorer as well.
