Check out my scouting reports and analysis on some of the best 2025 forwards who really shined during their time on the court during the second day at the PrepHoops Easter Classic. I cant wait to see what the do during the remainder of the tournament, as well as the growth they will begin to show over the next few months!

Niclaus Pina 2025 6'5 Hobbs High School, NM (New Mexico D1 2025)

Niclaus is an energetic forward who actively follows the ball and attacks the ball on the glass on both ends of the floor. He rebounds the ball at a very high level and is good at finding opponents to seal them off from having a chance of grabbing a rebound. His ability to actively box out his opponent drew fouls as his opponents tried to jump over the top of his back. He has the ability to play as a small ball center if his team needs him to. On the defensive end of the floor, he showed an ability to quickly move his feet and defend his opponents on the perimeter, while also using his strength to defend in the paint. I would like to see him continue to develop his ability to handle the basketball, as well as work out of creating offense out of the high post or on the wings. As he begins to see the floor at a higher level and continue to understand the angles in which his opponents want to cut him off with, he will become an even more dynamic prospect.

Davis Currie 2025 6'4 Casady High School, OK (JEB Elite 2025)

Davis is a high level forward who fights with real intensity in the paint for positioning and on the glass. He wreaks havoc in the paint by using his strength and ability to sky for rebounds and protect the rim. He is great at using his length to dominate his opponent, and slides over well to deny his opponents an angle to the rim. His aggressiveness on both ends of the court really stood out as he worked hard for positioning on the glass and the defensive end of the court. I was blown away by his constant energy and willingness to do all of the little things on the court, like diving after loose balls and seeming to grab every rebound possible. I would like to see him work on his handle and calmness with a live dribble. As he begins to become more skilled with his handle and ability to get downhill off the bounce, he will become an even more valuable weapon.

Samuel Aluyor 2025 6'6 Shadow Creek High School, TX (Houston Kings Elite 2025)

Samuel is a high level forward who easily scores with his back to the basket and rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. He is great at keeping the ball high whenever he is operating out of the post. He is always keeping the ball out of the reach of his opponents and using his length to easily bunny hook them to death in the paint. I would like to see him work on developing more post moves, he is an expert with the hook shot already, and he should easily continue to get more moves in his arsenal. I would also like to see him work on his ability to stay vertical whenever he is defending the rim. He could also work on his ability to jump multiple times underneath the basket for second chance points and tip ins and rebounds on the defensive end of the floor.

Jacoven Julian 2025 6'3 Byron High School, TX (RBC 2025)

Jacoven is a consistent forward who takes pride in his ability to dominate on the defensive end of the floor. He is great at staying vertical when protecting the rim and rejecting shots in the paint. He has good size and moves his feet very well, good enough to defend on the perimeter and dominate in the paint. On the offensive side of the ball, he showed an ability to operate out of the high post and play alongside another dynamic big. He consistently made the right passes to find cutting teammates underneath the basket and even made slick dump off passes after drawing a second defender in the lane. He routinely used his length to finish over the top of his opponents in the paint. I would like to see him work on his ability to score off the dribble from the midrange and beyond the arc.
