Check out my scouting reports and analysis on some of the best 2023 forwards who really shined during their time on the court during the last day at the PrepHoops Easter Classic. I cant wait to see the growth they will begin to show over the next few months!

Tim Okojie 2023 7'0 Spring Creek Academy, TX (Athletic Elite 2023)

Tim is a massive force on the interior with his tremendous size and ability to protect the paint and clear the glass. He is great at turning away shots in the paint, from behind or as the defender is coming at him. He has good defensive instincts and knows how to high point the ball on his opponents release. I would like to see him work on being more patient and staying vertical versus going for a hard block every time. With his size, he is an elite rim protector by simply staying vertical. He moves very well for his size, and showed an ability to run the floor and finish, much like how Clint Capela does in the NBA. He is a force as he is coming down the lane, even if he is a trailer and can catch the defense off guard.

Jackson Seale 2023 6'9 McKinney Boyd High School, TX (Top Achievers Elite 2023)

Jackson is a high level forward with his ability to stretch the floor and score from all three levels all while protect the rim. He is an efficient scorer with his back to the basket, and has an array of post moves and hook shots with either hand. He is aggressive down low, and uses his size to his advantage every chance he could, going at his defender's chest and drawing fouls. His aggressiveness is also evident on the glass where his size and strength were often way too much for his opponents to deal with. He showed an ability to be the pick and roll, or out of the pick and pop with his ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots over the top of his opponents. He routinely made good decisions after setting hard screens to free up his lead guard, or slipping for an easy look at the rim. Seale is a high level forward who should have an elite senior year next year with the ease in which he scores in the paint.

Kaden Stuckey 2023 6'8 Plano Senior High School, TX (Top Achievers Elite 2022)

Kaden is a defensive force with his ability to reject shots or play in the passing lanes on the perimeter. I was blown away by his ability to move his feet while also wreaking havoc in the paint. He is great at staying vertical and rejecting shots right at the rim. He has the ability to jump multiple times to protect the rim or even fight on the glass. He anchors his teams defense and rebounded the ball at a very high level. His energy and aggressiveness on the defensive end of the floor really stood out, he fought for any loose balls and long rebounds. I would like to see him develop his handle on the perimeter, and work on getting into the teeth of the defense with a live dribble out of the triple threat. As he begins to develop his ability to get downhill, he will become an elite offensive weapon as well.

Dameon Ely 2023 6'7 Taos High School, NM (New Mexico D1)

Dameon is a skilled forward with his ability to put the ball on the floor, make the right reads and even anchor his team's defense. I was very impressed with his ability to seemingly do it all on the offensive end of the floor. He finished at a high level around the rim, and even displayed an ability to get there from the baseline and the wings. He is a smart player out of the pick and roll, who set hard screens that created space for his guards and created confusion which allowed him to skip to the basket and finish over a smaller defender sliding over to protect the rim. When he faced double teams down low, he made good passes out to his shooters in the corners, and even found cutting teammates as they flashed to the rim.
